here's a modding bug/feature : if a tech cost is set to 0, the tech is researched from the start as intended, but all ability points modifiers won't be applied see Link

your first point is not limited to the 1.2 beta it did already happen that way before I guess it's more a feature than a bug ...
I found that it works only if I put more than 1, less than 10 or equal in tech cost (don't know exactly which number) at that time it becomes a standard tech if researched, bonuses are applied correctly so I guess this is a sort of bug
well I noticed a noticably lesser memory usage on gigantic maps but I did not notice any change in speed for focus I suggest you read the changelogs
got the same problem with a saved game, when I start a new one, no problems that was it silly me thanks by the way
ok so I modded a little technology researched from start according to CariElf's Doc and it works to a certain extent .... here's the code : Star Faring 0 All the prerequesites to become a star faring race are packed here. This is the starting tech None <br
I agree with that, a completely separate forum (means that those beta post won't be displayed on the main page) would be an improvement
the truth is : galciv 2 races are somehow alike our current nations even "good" nations will conquer those that are too weak ... history is full of that kind of stories... if you are good & they are good, there is an increased chance that they won't try to crush you but if you have a military that is really too weak, they will find the need to protect your people from you.... that makes sense
well, given than most strategy games are either : heavely scripted (the computer will behave in one optimized way and that is all) or cheats I think Galciv 2 AI is pretty good & flexible for example it is able to adapt to any mod (with more or less success of course) you can add a building and the AI should use it ..... the game is VERY enjoyable, best strategy game I played since a long long time BUT of course there is bugs here and there, the save/reload b
well, without taking balance into account weapons increasing in size with ship size does not make much sense BUT defences increasing in size with ship size does make sense ! after all there's more to protect ...
I noticed that all my current ship designs work without problems if I just build them but If I try to upgrade one, all components are thrown together so, does everyone experience this or is it just me ? is there something to do to be able to upgrade them without them losing their appearance ? will 1.11 to 1.2 final have the same problem ? (or perhaps it is too early to ask) I ask this because I would like to know if I should start taking screenshots of my shi
Another option if you're feeling really adventurous would be to drive over to Stardock and get a new one - we're located about an hour south of you in Plymouth MI. Probably the only game you've bought that was made in Michigan (other than maybe Descent ). seriously guys ! did you ever saw one company offer that option to someone besides S
You forgot one: -The computer is allied with all civs in the game, including you. It would not be difficult to prevent this from happening, but the AI doesn't seem to make any effort to prevent the player from doing it. the one I "forgot" on purpose is the same as 1st case without opponents => changes nothing to the results<br/
Great change, but does this mean the AI can now also win a diplomatic victory, or are they still disallowed that? well thinking about it, and unless you can allow multiple winners the computer can't really win a diplomatic victory, let's go through all possible cases : -the computer enter an alliance with you & elimanates all th
no I think beta are not released as single files downloads because it's easier to deliver them through SDC and remember the purpose of beta is to extend the testing phase to more people so as to quickly get through it & release final
see this thread which indexes all others about this issue : Link it's not really cheating as the computer gets the same treatment, but effectively you can still cheat (for example if you get & produce transport ships before your opponent you can use this exploit to travel very far ) but it's still disturbing
still not fixed in 1.2b1 I guess it's more hard to fix than I thought still as the number is calculated correctly in other screens I thought it would not be that much hard
No news... Someone called echelon said here, that it would be addressed in v1.2... well I don't know about final 1.2 but it's still not fixed in 1.2b1 ... I'm seriously thinking about doing a sort of Poll or Petition with for example www.petitiononline.com to raise this particular bug on their priority list but I don't know
Dano13 : it would have been said if there was ....
ok so I don't think it is really a question of jewelry OR multiplayer it's rather ( jewelry and multiplayer ) OR (jewelry and single player expansion pack ) OR (no jewelry and multiplayer ) OR ( no jewelry and single player expansion pack ) why is that ? : well jewelry is almost art only, not much programming needs here multiplayer is almost programming needs ... so I don't think each poll is related to the other<br/
for all the bug fixes I say
ok I just had a case where one civilization outrun me at building a galactic achievement/trade good and I had espionage : HIGH with this civilization I think that as I should have been able to see the planet building it manually (by clicking on every planet) spies should report that kind of important information directly to me for example : -we just spotted this race building this trade good and that it is expected to be finished in x weeks or -as we kno
I built the Galactic Guide Book in my current v1.11 game (& no by the time it is available all anomalies are not gone => gigantic map) first it worked perfectly (reduces the cost of the module to 0 (module is shown with price but price isn't reflected on the whole ship price) then I saved later I reloaded and all survey ship jumped to normal price now if I upgrade or redo my designs it will work but if I don't do that I'll pay the full price !!! her
tried stardock faqs ? Link
thanks random50 , there was actually two questions, you answered them fine as I did not get to the point where I feel confident enough to even scratch the crippling AI level ... this sheds new light on my future strategies and I thank you for that but still.... 50% research would seem to put a hurt on my production worlds ...
