About the planetary scale, does it really matter ? if we were still a feudal society and if intergalactic, it wouldn't be far fetched to sell & buy planets as a whole (perhaps not EARTH and the like though) imho, this problem about AI selling himself off is of 2 scales : - 1 the AI that is 10x inferior to you : no issue here, if he's that far below you could probably win all other kinds of victories - 2 the AI that is at your level, barely inferior

well I'm sorry, perhaps I'm not right but I don't agree. in my experience the AI settled cities right beside lots of monsters (about 5 in 2 movement range) including insane ones and as soon as I took the city, it took all in all about 3 turns for it to be razed. (couldn't clear those monsters, too high level) that's what I saw with my very own eyes, I can't talk about the rest
So, as the title says, one can save a map with "cheats" (which is great) however I can't open it with the included TA map editor, the application actually crashes when trying to open it any idea ? thanks.
I'm not entirely sure my opinion is welcome but regardless I'll still give my input as far as I know it was quite usual to give(sell/buy/trade/exchange) away territory through history, marriage for example was such a condition where territory would change hands.... (of course not for peasants :p) In my humble opinion you guyz are being influenced by the general fact that nowadays in our western civilizations/ideology, we don't sell people & territory anym
anyone still have a backup of this somewhere and could upload it ? I used to have these stored somewhere but lost a hard drive
ok this thread is freaking old but I never saw the last replies so I'll reply now because I don't like leaving potential false information in a thread of mine. there is no need for any 3GB variables on X64 systems If you read all the documentation you would understand why a 32 bit system can only allocate up to 2GB to a single process. a 32 bit system with 3GB variables can only allocate up to 3GB to a single process. A 64 bit system can allocate
ok thanks for the fast reply. I'll try that
Hello, I left the GC2 community around the time impulse was launched. So I was still using the previous Stardock utility to download patches, and now I'm a bit lost I have registered all my games with stardock, never used impulse nor gamestop I want to install back GC2 & expansions from my DVDs & only dowload updates, so that I don't have a lot of Gigabytes to download I tried going to : <a href="https://store.stardock.com/myaccou
finally an up to date "not-MOM" game, I'm so happy I could cry of pure joy
Never before seen anything like this. Giving out internal plans so openly. First thing that comes to mind is the graphics of that screenshot of Not-MoM. Looks like Super Nintendo class graphics I got that survey and from the question "what 3 gametypes do you want Stardock to focus on" I choose TBS types all the way. Not because they're my favorites but because my other favorite genres (FSP, RTS and ARPG/RTRPG) are being m
you guys forgot this in the legitimate complaints : if a program needs to install additional "something" on your computer, the user should : know about it, prior to buy AND upon installation, this "something" should NOT in any case pave the way for hacks/cheats/viruses/trojans and malware in general, and this "something" shouldn't in any case be able to make the stability of the computer at risk (which in turns makes data loss a possibility)
The report is nice and all, but I find it interesting that Linux was an option for what people want Stardock to focus on, while actual Linux users couldn't honestly complete the survey. If I remember correctly, there was a question on what operating system you use. But it only listed Windows OSes. I tried to leave it blank, but it wouldn't let me. So I chose the last version of Windows I used, which w

Well I have to agree with those who said that galciv2 was quite buggy on release Though I wouldn't be as quick to judge. After all, galciv was an outsider and support in the following years has been quite amazing to say the least. So in the end there's far far worse on the bug side. There's also far better but often it's not at all the same budget... (even if budget doesn't fix bugs all by itself ...) @DrSpock 15 years ago there was <span style="text-decoratio
well most actually improve a planet quality upon completion (even if the building disappear after use) . My starting planet got from 10 to 11 with soil enhancement then from 11 to 12 with habitat improvement and on another start building terraforming on the planet made it go up from 10 to 11 only (should go to twelve with 20%) !!! so I guess it's true that this number does nothing at all which is confirmed by my test with the thalan gaia device which only add the 10%PQ ability t
hello a few glitches I did note : (downloaded the application a few minutes ago from main link) -version 1.7.5 written in readme/changelog but not in about dialog -assembly version of executable : 1.7.4.33295 -gaia vortex (Thalan Planetary Improvement) also give 10% to the planet PQ it is built upon according to the xml data (in addition to the 10% ability bonus to PQ) -all terraforming improvements don't seem to show up the PQ improvement (like terrafo

Hi I must say I'm pretty impressed with what I just read the gamer bill of rights is just a FANTASTIC IDEA !!! It's been a while since I came on this website, I hope someone from stardock will see my comment... I have to add something to the examples that Brad Wardell gave : when I was young (12 year old exactly), I started to have a "decent" computer... (Pentium 75 [e digicons]:D[/e] ) Relativ
no, there's no way to undo an obsolete command of course it's normal that a delete command can't be undone but in case of the obsolete it's too bad I would have liked something ala Moo3 that is : you can obsolete & undo and you can also check a box to see obsoleted designs Currently I have a very long list of ships because some times I want to keep a design but not the ship in itself for future upgrade if anyone would like this idea please make a short
savegame problem fixed in 1.31 minor influence display problem after loading a savegame which should not be that much of a bother
there's a few points missed in these thread first the flip is not decided by any race but directly by people it's somewhat of a revolt against the original owner in favor of the new owner I don't see how could one leader (either side) have any power on that directly (other than by propaganda & such I agree though that races who have alliances and very close relations shouldn't flip that easily to each other (what's the point for people to revolt to a friendly race
If I remember correctly, the AI in galciv2 was not designed with a "I want to win" way of thinking it will try to win but not at any cost for its people, its way of thinking is rather : "I am the ruler of a race, how will I handle this?" in Moo3, the AI (despite the fact that it cheated) was designed like a player and did in fact "want to win" which was really bad because whatever you did you would ALWAYS end up at war with every computer given enough time (because at a poi
while playing on a gigantic map with slowest tech & abundant everything, here's my order which means I have the use for "galactic guide book" 1)colonize & grow & research by the time I get galactic guide book & eyes of the universe I change to : 2)colonize less & grow & build ultra speed survey vessels there's still a lot of anomalies to survey another option is to start a custom map without flagships
ok I updated with a newer debug information at the start of the thread to prevent people being mislead... let me reexplain what happened in the correct chronological order: -1) the problem is very old and started to happen at the very beginning that I got the game or something very close to that -2) I tried to sort it out but there was still so much other problems in the game that I waited for newer versions -3) I updated to 1.2 -4) I updated to 1.31 -5) the prob
thanks for answering, -v1.31 is installed -throttle is activated since a long time but changes nothing in my case I don't think my card is overheating as it's no longer summer here... moreover when my radeon 9700pro overheats "VPU recover" kicks in OR the computer crashes if it's really too hot -tried recently to disable sound from the galciv2 interface but this changed nothing -the "problem" happen more and more frequently once
