I agree, it seems to be getting better. I have enjoyed the last couple episodes more than any of the others. I also agree that Bab5 is a must see. And since it is on Hulu (at least the first two seasons, currently) there is really no excuse for pleading ignorance. And /SlashControl has all 5 seasons up and running. http://www.slashcontrol.com/free-tv-shows/babylon-5 My 13 year old daughter really likes Bab5. We spent a couple months watching Bab5 with dinner. There is an event that decreases all influence, and that may have happened in your game. There is also one that increases everyone's influence. One usually follows the other after a certain number of weeks or months. Not much you can do about it, except to plant more influence bases (which may make some civs declare war on you) or build some of the special buildings that increase influence on a global scale. You can also get some influence resources and load them up with minin
Don't you also have to make sure that the AI has the Alliance tech before it will work?
Easy enough to give it to them.

That is the main reason I never bought the expansions to GC2. It just created an unacceptable level of micromanagement, and hassle. The asteroids were another. All they did was create another type of resource that you had to direct to a certain planet, with a little graphic bling. Sorry, but more micromanagement of resources is a bad thing. The original GC2 was, and will always be, the best. All the expansions ever did was to add more micro-garbage - but ne

First, you need to research the Alliance tech. Then you need a 'close' relationship with an AI race. That is none too easy to obtain. You can't have too much influence over them, your military can't appear weak, you should have established some trade routes with them, and it doesn't hurt to gift them a few techs and money when they are at war with someone. Once that happens you should see an 'Alliance' option in the trading screen. Offer that to the AI you are close with and c

When I add a ship style for myself I use the S99 prefix. 99 might be for custom races, or it might make it available to all races. I'm not sure on that point. But what if you specified 99 in the race code? Would that work? (you would also have to make sure your custom ships had the S99 prefix)

I agree. MS has a monopoly. But, that is only because they deliver good products that the majority want. Both Mac and Linux/Unix are too limited in scope. And I'm sure we all remember the likes of BeOS and other OS's that bit the dust in the last 20 years. Microsoft's OS's have always been more compatible with more hardware and software than any other. I still can't use any Linux product with my Falcon II TV card, but I still can with Windows 7. They hav
2- Why is it that when I rush my tech tree towards planetary invasion in the early game it is SIGNIFICANTLY easier to research than if I wait until later in the game?
Because research gets more expensive as time goes on. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but it gets progressively more time consuming. To gain the advantage from the effect I always research the Research tech tree first, up to at least Research Academy. Then I do Xeno Ethics to get Ne

I use Notepad to open the debug files, and it always preserves the formatting. But judging from the ample content it looks like you were playing for quite some time. You may simply have run out of memory.

Reply to Bonus Tiles in Strategies

You can put any of the normal buildings on a bonus tile. So any type of factory (from Basic Factory to Industrial Sector) can make use of the associated bonus tile; any type of research lab (from Basic Lab to Discovery Sphere and NLC) for the research bonus tiles, etc. Special buildings (like Omega Research Center or any of the Capitols) will gain you no advantage.

http://www.kansascity.com/2010/04/21/1894389/mcafee-antivirus-update-had-its.html McAfee releases an update Wednesday that flags a Windows system file as a virus, causing (possibly hundreds of) thousands of computers to go into an endless reboot cycle after the file is deleted. It seems to have affected mainly business computers. Hospitals, companies, police departments, schools... Since the computer can't even boot into safe mode, the IT people have to go to ea

It is so strange that a black man would find Asian women more attractive. It is also so strange that so many white men feel the same way. And it is oh so strange that many Asian women find either black or white men more to their liking. And what about white women/men with black men/women. Astounding! Synnworld, I think you are to sensitive to what other people think. There will always be someone that does not approve of something that you

Karma is as karma does. Karma is such a fickle thing. Here today, gone tomorrow. And yet, doesn't karma relate to what you do in life - in a very general way? As such, your karma rating on this board would fluctuate with how you conduct your everyday living. Said a bad word to someone lately? Karma goes down. Had a negative thought lately? Karma goes down. Swat a fly lately? Karma goes down. Smoke a cig or j today? Karma goes down

Also, if you are playing as Iconian it is no longer considered an 'AI weak' race. You, as a real human (with real (assumed) intelligence), will always have an advantage over a programmed AI.

And it does not come in every game, does it? If it happens, then deal with it. The gain to them is not all that fast, if you act quickly. And face it... some games are no-win situations.

Sorry to get back on topic... Morale resources can be your friend. Get as many as you can, then load them up with all 7 mining modules. And still, try to keep populations below 20B unless it is a very high PQ planet. You will need at least 5 VR Centers and several more Stock Market's to keep them happy enough.

One other thing you should consider. When you go into the ship builder for the first time (in any session) it loads into memory all of the ship components. If you have added some custom ships the amount of memory consumed can skyrocket. It is not uncommon for me to use more than a gig extra of RAM. After you get done designing your ships it is a good idea to save and completely exit to the desktop, then reload the game.
