No, I sprung for the automatic guns. They even have ammo. I'd sure like to see an after action report on what that last legion used to kill so many.

I find that the data displays work well enough for most things to tell me what is going on. I name the planets for my benefit in the the planet lists. I usually name high production planets as Shipyards, Drydock, etc; and extremely high quality planets (20+) as Prime if they are not specialized. I give names such as Labs, Research Center, etc to research focused worlds. Just whatever it seems like makes sense. It also makes my galaxy feel more realistic I typically leave the star s
The map editor does not seem to have maximize enabled on my system, yet double clicking the title bar cases the widnow to shrink (restore), and then crash with a directX error at times. Runing Vista Ultimate x64. Why is maximize disabled, and has anyone else experienced a crash of this nature?
BTW 2100 billion is 2.1 trillion. None-the-less, 2100 billion troops is horrid overkill seeing that a planet only have a base of 6 billion people.

It's 3000 legions of troops, not 3000 troops.
Sorry about that, I do indeed have 21,000 million troops. Just a typo. If you are going to be doing a lot of invading, it makes since to bring a vastly larger army. This means you will likely have a higher percentage remaining after the battle than otherwi
Can Trade Goods be repealed? If I offer Xinathium Hull Plating to someone but later want to revoke the bonus it gives them, can I? If I am, in fact, trading "goods" and not the technology itself, I should be able to stop sending those goods at any time I please. Will Trade Embargo do this?
You are trading the tech, and as such it cannot be taken back.
Why do planetary improvements of the same kind (e.g. Market Center -> Adv. I'm not sure how to do what you are asking, but you might try turning off fullscreen mode. If you then run it at a res that will fit inside your monitor res, you would have a non skewed game window that filled most of the screen. That might get you by till someone has a better idea for you.
My current game is in the latest TA beta (.98c[b].001). When invading planets, I bring 21 billion (thats 21000m) troops to the battlefield. I am using a custom race based on the Terran tech tree. I have researched all techs for soldering ability. (72 advantage, 99000+ tech rating) When I attack, I quickly overwhelm them and bring thier numbers down to 1. At that point that last solder manages to kill between 1500 ~ 3000 million of my army. While I think it is good to simulate t
I believe you do have to activate the game game if its DA or TA, don't you? Could someone clarify the point for him?
I sure do appreciate SD's hard work on TA, but I think the screen could use a little help as well. At the very least, it would be nice if the graphics could be made to look more 3D and less 'skewed'. There is a little too much texture stretching as it is.
@Uranium - What difficulty level are you playing at?
SD Central can be configured (and is by default I believe) to automatically check for updates for installed software at startup.
Ok, so even if they don't want to change it can't they just fix the description so it matches the ability? One way or the other would be nice.
Note the expanded view shows DA listed separately with version number. The available column does not show a version number since it is fully updated.
Does Stardock Central say the same thing for Dark Avatar (not the DL line)?
It would sure be nice to have it toggle so you could do it either way. Don't you think?
Do you in fact have DA and/or TA purchased and installed? If so, you must launch the appropriate chapter (or switch between them from the launcher program). For example, if you run GalCiv2 Gold Edition, it will only run DL stuf and as such be v1.5. If you run Dark Avatar, you will see it is a newer version (if the update is installed). Please advise.
The best way is to use Stardock Central. It does a pretty good job of finding the right updates and getting them installed. Worked on my gold edition anyway. Be sure and download the gold edition extras if you aren't going to buy the expansions. I've been told they are in the new ones anyway, but not sure on that.
I'm not color blind, but I have often wanted the option to toggle what races are shown (maybe clicking them in the legend) on the time line graph. I think it would be handy to toggle some other displays as well. To answer your questions: I believe treaties such as economic and research have arrows showing which way the resource is flowing. I don't recall if any other versions have it, but the TA beta shows information as to each race's relations with the others. Whil
It might be easier to help you if you tell us what version of the game you are playing, and what you did on the previous turn (the one you last clicked the turn button for).
I'd like to alter the home star system of my custom races. I get bored with them all starting with Sol's layout. Anyone know how to change it? Is it Metaverse safe? Could you substitute another base race's system instead? Would that be?
Hmm. Vista here, but the equivalent folder does not exist. Just to make sure, what key does screenshots?
This is sorta on topic. Does anyone know what sort of customizations will be metaverse compatible?
This could actually give rise to a support vessel using a 'repair dry dock' sort of module that was very massive in size. You could then have a ship entirely devoted to repairing your fleet.
I can't seem to locate the screenshots taken by the game. Where does TA store them? Could it perhaps not actually be managing to save them at all?
Hmmm... That is very strange to me then. I wonder why the AI is not bothering with military ships. In the the victory screen, in the lower right, it shows "off" under the sword icon. I believe this indicates that conquest is disabled for the AI players. Does that mean that they can't win by conquest, even if they don't know it? And is there any way that could make them not build military? I will submit my game for you. I had figured it was something everyone must exp
