For me this is with XP so I don't think its just related to Vista. I'm also not to good with the registry but I took my chance and everything worked, hopefully the problem will be fixed soon.

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that the 1.5 patch was supposed to update the tutorials for DA.

This could be a bug with SDC or the patch. I bought DA with just the digital download and even reinstalled thinking this could be the problem but it still happened, like I said the reg fix worked but something is up with the installation of the final 1.80g. Of course I'm using a wireless connection so that could also be the reason.

Just got DA and even though in SDC the tutorials were supposed to be updated I'm still getting the old Dread lords tutorials in Dark Avatar, is this right?

I just upgraded to DA today and had the same problem. For me in SDC it said 1.80g but in game it was still at 1.80e. The reg fix worked but I wonder if its a problem with SDC.

I've also noticed performance issues when playing on gigantic maps. What I did was set my pagefile to 8 gigs, I know thats huge but this game apparently requires a very large pagefile late in games. Also you could all try Pagedefrag, since windows is unable to defragement the pagefile, this free program will do it at windows startup. I'm not sure if this will work for Vista but its been fine for me on XP. I would post the link but I'm not sure how, just do a goole search for pagede

One of the biggest reasons I got this game was because of the AI. Computer and robotic AI has always been fascination of mine since I was a kid even though I have no AI programming experience. The AI in this game is just fantastic (although its no HAL 9000) at least compared to so many other games I've played. Is this the only game out there that specifically designed to be played against the computer? My real question is, after reading the article in the updated manual about

For me I love the fact that this game was optimized for the single player experience. I personnely don't care for multiplayer, its not that I hate people its just playing against complete strangers is not really all that fun for me. Also you really don't now if the person you're playing is really committed to staying in the game for the long run even their losing. Another turned based game I play is Gary Grigsby's World At War: A World Divided, a WWII game that's similar to a grand st

Is there really any need to update beyond the 1.4 version if you are just playing Dread Lords without the expansion? Also is there a complete change log from the original 1.0? Sorry for all the questions, its been over year since I last played.

I bought the game about a year ago when it first came out but due to bugs and some instability problems with I think version 1.10 I just uninstall ed it and put it on the shelf until more patches were released. I just did a reinstall with the 1.4 patch and I'm noticing alot of changes have been made. I tried looking on the site for change notes but I can't seem to find it. Anyway mainly I want to know how the enable cpu ai algorithms effects the AI and if it makes it better. Also w

I agree with Frogboy's position, as far as I'm concerned if you don't like playing AI then don't play computer games. To me thats the whole point of playing on a computer, you don't have to search and find opponents that will actually play a whole game against you. I've always been fasinated by AI, that was what got me interested in computers as a kid. It is true that AI will never be as smart as person but thats why Stardock releases periodic AI updates as weaknesses are found.

I can't believe some people are paying almost 3000 bucks on ebay for a Playstation 3, you could buy a descent PC for that kinda money, very silly, lol.

When I bought this game back in April it was and still is one of my favorite games, Stardock did a excellent job with this title, but I haven't played it since because of bugs so I thought I would wait to see if the game got fixed. Most of my problems seem to come from loading saved games, fog of war not working right and crashes. What's strange is that games like F.E.A.R which is far more system intensive has always worked fine for me. So I'm wondering from the experience of people playing the

Last night I was playing a game on a gigantic map and after about 6 to 7 hours into it my turn button disappeared. I was playing a custom race, Klingon Impire and I was at war with the Drath Legion. I had just got a troop transport to one of their planets and pressed the turn button and never it came back. To see if it would fix it I saved the game, exited , reloaded and it came back but then I pressed it again and it disappeared again. At this po

First of all I want to say that this has become one of my favorite games, I have the just one more turn syndrome. I played the other day for over 10 hours the other night. But last night I went to save my custom ship design and it crashed to the desktop with a application error, this is the first time this has happened since putting many hours into this game. I do have the 1.0x patch. My computer is more than capable of handling this game, and ever

I know not having a internet connection sounds funny but I kind of like it that way. There's no need to worry about anything. In the future I do plan on moving from where I am now so I well have to get the internet. I did read something about getting the game activated after the patch on a offline computer. I have a alot of other games installed and newer ones and have had no problems patching them.

I'm not sure were to post this but I have a question about installing the game. I've already ordered the retail version, it should be here tomorrow. The problem is that I don't have a internet connection, its just a headache as for as I'm concerned, anti-virus, firewalls and even with all that you still get infected. Anyway it sounds like intalling the game should not be a problem but getting updates and patches is a another story. Just to be cle
