Turn button gone

Last night I was playing a game on a gigantic map and after about 6 to 7 hours into it my turn button disappeared. I was playing a custom race, Klingon Impire and I was at war with the Drath Legion. I had just got a troop transport to one of their planets and pressed the turn button and never it came back. To see if it would fix it I saved the game, exited , reloaded and it came back but then I pressed it again and it disappeared again. At this point I had to quit the game and start over, I will have to admit I wasn't very happy. I do have the 1.0X patch, drivers are up to date, it seems the more I play the game, the more it degrades in performance. I can't rule out that my computer is not the problem but this game seems very buggy, I have many other games installed some new, some older and they run just fine. This game has become one of my favorites but if it keeps acting screwy, I don't want to waste 6 hours and not be able to finish it. Hopefully the new patch well fix some of the stability problems. Just a thought, can playing custom races have problems ?, I'm gonna try a original race tonight and see what happens.
