This was printed into a small booklet and bundled freely with my edition PC Gamer UK October 2008. It was a great read (even if it was riddled with typos :P). Note that this may be subscriber only... not sure though.

Judging by your attitude so far in, I can only offer the following advice: "You're doing it wrong." ;)
As far as I know Stardock have no plans to take TotA to retail.
No, the final version will be 1.9. Anything less than 1.0 is beta.Should I delete 0.99[rc].016? Why is it available on Stardock?
Make sure you deselect "Show pre-release versions" at the bottom of SDC! This had me stumped for a few minutes ;)
You got rid of the old human ambassador? Thank you thank you thank you! I always hated that guy!
I was wondering when a thread like this would pop up ;) I thought I had a reasonably low number but now I see it's shockingly high. I should have registered it immediately when I got GalCiv2, clearly ;)
Thanks for the update Frogboy. You can sleep well knowing that you've put to rest many fan's worries now about the game... not that you wouldn't have slept well anyway of course :P
There's been a lot of stuff going on. Anyone who hasn't been out sick has been extremely busy, AFAIK. And I do believe we're hoping for a TA beta this week.
well that's a bit of good news at least :) Thanks for the update Kyro.
Actually in regards to editors, I believe that with the Map Editor release came with the condition that unless the beta was leaked onto bittorrent more editors would be released. Of course the beta was leaked onto bittorrent, so that is a possible explanation for the lack of editors in the recent betas. However there has been no official confirmation on this so I'm not entirely sure - though the sudden increase in piracy articles made by Stardock staff does seem to indicate that they
Yes, if you download Stardock Central and register your GC2 key on there, you will add it to your account and so be able to download it any time you want.
Yeah, I believe there are a few movies missing intentionally at the moment. See reply #6 in this thread: https://forums.galciv2.com/?aid=171933
From BoogieBac in the 3C changelog thread:
Note: The change "Bug where if a survey ship landed on an anomaly, it got stuck there. Now it takes the anomaly..." caused a worse side-effect of auto-mining to not work. This will be fixed and updated shortly.
This might be related I guess...
You might want to try increasing the size of your page file. Make sure you know what you're doing before-hand though, as it's moderately important to your PC: [link="http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/sysdm_advancd_perform_change_vmpagefile.mspx?mfr=true"]WWW Link[/link]
Oh right, my mistake then, must have been remembering from DL.
I think as long as your espionage level is high enough you can spy on them all you like without actually having to place any agents.
Fantastic update, especially the updated textures. Keep up the excellent work guys, and we'll soon be blasting solar systems in a few months time
Yes, they do. Any attacking fleet has to get through them before they can stage an invasion with a troop carrier.
I also noticed something similar. The tooltips for the small icons below each tech (showing their benefits e.g. speed +10) seems to get "stuck" if you quickly switch to one tech branch to another via the scroll list near the top. What I mean by this, is that the old tooltips will still display in place of the new ones. I think it was fixed just by panning the tech tree around a bit.
Can't wait for it
Stardock Central does work with Dark Avatar. Make sure you've registered the key by going to Tools -> Register Products, then select the appropriate product from the Product combo box. (There are individual entries for Gal Civ 2 and expansions, do not use Games Subscription).
Perhaps push a big marketing campaign for pre-orders (maybe even with discounts) during Christmas time and then release in early January? Making sure to trumpet all the excellent new features of TotA of course.
Go ahead! Always nice to read new stuff (first time posting here myself ). Plus your modified universe looks to provide an interesting scenario. Please continue!
Please God, let it be new forum software
Excellent idea, you should mention that it is an actual in-game screenshot, instead of the renders that most commonly go for advertising nowadays On a side note, the 'T' in 'T.A.S. Virginia' is not slanted (in italics). Might want to correct that if it's not too late <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
What type of file is that..? It just called GC2 and has no extention. What application should one use when opening this file?
