OP -------10:30:05 PM Bump ---10:30 PM wow your a loser. I was going to answear this but now i am not. I think every one is missing the point here. According to this amazing bit of factfinding, We can now tell that Alfonse is a time traveller. I know, i know, its only 5 seconds, but with a bit of refinement...We might well have

Hmmm. I'm not averse to plenty of micromanagement, but i know that out there, in their teeming thousands will likely want to bludgeon you for the profanity of your Idea.... I like it though, It would make more sense once you reach at least star democracy, because it states that planets are getting increasingly more autonomous etc etc. Damn so much to say, but i'm getting kicked off the computer...Godamn housesharing sucks!

Hey guys this is not really relevant to this post, but in Sandbox mode it can be a great asset. Overlapped economy starbases give a huge boost to production and research! But you can only fit 4 starbases per sector. The Bonuses stack! @P22 you are right that sometimes even if you do everything right something happens to mess you up in the campaigns, hey they're a reflection of life generally!

I've just started using stacked starbases in my latest game, wicked!! thanks for the heads up guys. In my latest game (Sandbox - large - Abundant - Masochistic) I'm way behind the other civs, militarily, but I've got Battlecruisers with nuff defences kicked out every few turns ( thanks again). It was a quiet galaxy for a long long long long long long long long time until the drengin got Picked on by all the races. They died in less than 5 months as everyone ha

They are all doing it, the arceans, the torians, the drath, yor, every one of those poor planet management AIs that we have. Only one [if they build all the capitals on one planet ] or two planets[ if they split the capitals up] per AI race is built properly, the rest suck really really badly. |The only reason they stay in the arms race is that the bonuses mean that they have wads and wads of cash with which to buy those fleets. And all that potential for production and research is wasted.

Wow, that's some crazy figures iztok. i don't think i've ever seen anything like it, and i'm nosy about my 'neighbours' too. stardock take a note of this! Also all 4 capitals are on the same planet - imagine if it used planets properly - one producing 2000 + research points, one with a production of 2000, and one doing the same economically?? then it would make more sense. BTW iztok - we already know the AI gets 200% bonus on everything at the masochistic level, its in the journals.

@gmjapan - Ive noticed the same thing, primarily the defence rating of the DLs is set to point defence, but they get the defence value on shields and armour. Its a bit of a bugger, but like i said earlier swarms of small fighters with a military starbase maxed out up to starbase projection will be the key to staying alive until you get the top tier weapons and ships. The DL start of with top of the Line attack and defensive techs, total majesty, the best farm, but no logistics. they s

@heroine4life are you keeping logs of your games and performing analysis regularly? If not then refrain from passing over meaningless percentages please, there's a good girl. As for v1.11 I do beleive that they would only be addressing part of the problem - less embassy building. Read the logs, i am not expecting much from it, but i will say that the save/load times have improved. wehey! Reaver - my strategy is okay, but i'm rarely at the top of the food chain. the drengin

What happened? The game has become an exercise in building sandcastles. No more war. The new and 'improved' AIs no longer declare war. This has got have something to do wih that fear factor algorithm that has been introduced recently - "Aggressive AIs will think twice before going around conquering because they know the other civs will gang up on them" Great idea man, unfortunately it works too bloody well. The only wars i have seen in my last few sandbox games have been trivial. And

Me want carriers too, but what would be the point without tactical combat?? all it would be is little missile analogues going up and down the screen in the combat visualisation gimmicky thing...Sounds great huh??

It is hard to beat the dread lords, but it can be done. you hve to change your strategy completely (In relation to the sandbox games.) BTW the dread lord only get fleets if they capture a planet and get a logistics tech. I'm almost certain of this. 1. You need high population worlds 2. Soldiering techs need to be researched rapidly [ and you need to make sure your allies are similarly equipped, sell tech fast, give it away if you have to.] 3. Military starbases wi

@Ken - Why on earth, heaven or hell do you want to kill the focus for? It is an invaluable feature - let me explain: Imagine you are at war with a hostile race who has vastly more ships than you. You need ships, so you set the sliders to high military output and start churning out ships - job done....But you want to keep up in the tech race (Or keep the lead - if you're playing well). The focus abitlity allows some planets to concentrate on research, thereby allowing you to keep up yo
