Well that's what I'm doing, and what does slow pop growth really do? it replenishes worlds slower in times of war and causes your tax base to be smaller for a while. I have a tech lead as the Drath so I'm not concerned about my worlds being invaded and troops replenishing too slowly to defend them because the enemy won't reach my worlds anyway. When I'm on the offensive I have at least +50 soldiering. Economically I don't feel the slower pop growth because I don't

Compared to the other civs I've tried, the Drath are just a cakewalk. I tried them out (getting back into the game, I never played the pre-set races before) in a few games and quickly got their gist. - They have very high diplomacy both innately and from quickly gotten tech so you can get what you want from other civs much easier than otherwise and they will also attack you less. - Ridiculous revenue from other races being at war which is what makes them so seemingly
Here you go , it doesn't tell you what the techs actually do though but that was fine with me as I just wanted to know which races get what techs with which alignment (less races get different techs at all depending on their alignment choice than I expected).
Yeah I noticed, takes a looong time to research the weapons compared to what it used to be - very good. The bug seems to have gone away now as the AI has made some defense, it used to not make any defense whatsoever no matter the ship or situation in the game.
So this one game I think to myself, ''I might as well construct my stellar forge now. It's never been of use to wait for a planet better suited to producing starships anyway''. A few turns later I happen upon a PQ 8 and I can interrogate the crew for a +40% starship bonus... [e digicons]:smitten:[/e] . But I want my stellar forge there too. How can I delete the improvement so I can build it on my other planet instead? as expected, the save game file is just a bunch of dri
Last time I played this game (I have all three) which was quite a while ago, the AI only made weapons on its ships. This meant that I could either beat the AI at its own game by spamming cheap ships with the minimum of weaponry needed to destroy its ships since it had 0 defensive upgrades (which I didn't because I always ended up both territorially smaller and militarily non-existant compared to the AI), get destroyed by it because I was producing much more expensive, larger ships with ba
The descriptions at Civilizations are horribly outdated, and the game doesn't provide significant enough information either. Where's the descriptions and all of that?
Extra. Why is everyone so rigid when it comes to something new. Thats the reason why we have so many problems in the world
Not *everyone*. I'm part of that exception group ;)
Well that's too bad, won't do a thing about piracy then. Swedish officials don't give a crap, and one (possibly more) minister has even admitted to piracy, and encouraged others to come out of the closet. Lobbying and otherwise trying to enforce something upon the government is considered illegal here, so MPAA have nothing to say. That international corporations think they can bully us around like pets is the truly hilarious thing. As long as we're not suffering terror bombings, disappe
Aha, so now international treaties go before the country's own laws? and how are they going to be enforced? anti-terrorist groups dragging away random passerbys into dark cellars, perhaps? Do you actually think people care if the laws down in France or something, say we can't pirate? That's right - we don't. Laws are made by humans and aren't failsafe. I'm pretty sure the police force, even the ones in court, are more-or-less pirates too. And the police isn't just some kind of
And yes, I forgot to add this in. Don't blindly obey laws.
HeroOfSorts - here's hoping you get caught soon, so you can try this defense in court.
Hope you mean for some other crime. Don't plan to be a criminal though. You can't do anything legally about Piracy here in Sweden.
Translated means "I'll do what I want to do, to hell with anyone else". Good luck with that one ....
No it doesn't.
If you cant see why, then you'll have a real problem in the coming decades .... Tell that to the Judge when you give that one as the reason for stealing a Ferrari and see what happens. And I take it another of your personal agendas is Respect? ..... not gonna happen.
Are you anti-pirates seriously uncapable of differ
Piracy IS stealing. You are stealing the chance of a future sale from the company. Whether you later have an attack of conscience is irrelevant. You saying you won't pirate from Stardock is the equivalent of saying you won't shoplift from EB, but Gamestop and every other retail store is fair game until they earn your respect. Let's put this closer to the truth. Would you consider it immoral to walk out of a GameStop with a copy of a game, then come back and pay for it later
Your definition is, as I just tried to explain, flawed. ''Borrowing'' a car that I'd never otherwise buy is stealing. Downloading a game that I'd otherwise never buy isn't. Stop comparing piracy to stealing and you might see further. Now we're getting into principles again. Why would I not download games that I can't buy? It's very simple logic. If I don't buy it, neither the company nor I get anything. If I download it, then at least I get something. And that's where your poin
The problem with people that are against piracy, is generally that they can't make out the difference between good and bad pirates. Good pirates: Take me for example, I'm fifteen. I don't download good games unless I can't buy them, and I never download the games of companies/devteams that I respect, such as Stardock. I'd never think about pirating GalCiv2 simply because the game and its support is awesome. A game like Heroes of Might and Magic 5 however, is a different thing. I wouldn'
We're not really inclined to nerf races but rather make the others more powerful which we will as we go through and play them more. Moreover, we need to find interesting and useful things for players to spend their money on.
I agree. As it is now - If you have a lot of money, that goes towards Espionage/making Ships. Give us more Stardock, and we will forever rub your backs :)
Why can't we decide what Terror Stars actually do, too? for example, instead of just destroying things, you could set it to hamper research in a wide area around itself. Or you could make it send out mini-ships to engage enemy traders, and so on. Naturally you'd also be able to choose to have it as a regular Terror Star... or perhaps if you really wanted to fund the project, what about combining this? and more! There is so much you can do with these, please don't leave them as a pure th
I have no specific suggestions, but I would like to see way, WAY more events in general (or an option to turn the frequency of events up/down would be nice). Also, some randomness would be appreciated. For example, once one race gets quite powerful its very likely to stay that way and the rest of the game is pretty much streamlined, shake that up! Make the galaxy truly ''live'', sort of like a community or city in our real world!
EDIT: Found out what was causing it, appears to be ships in orbits. I have absolutely no lag or anything at all with that option turned off. Also, I set something else down to 0, but ill reset it, because it doesnt appear to have much of an effect. Well ive come to a conclusion, DA is unplayable until this is fixed. Im gonna try minimizing the minimap now Anyway, when ships explodes it
Sweet, tech trading will be turned off. Its a pain to see the AIs outnumber you in techs from point 2.
Hey people heres the deal see, im getting DA on friday (living in Sweden if you care), so naturally im thinking up my grand stratagem. Im of course making a custom race, which is going to focus on improving my Ships, Economy and Trade (if trade isnt as ludicrously expensive in terms of cost as it is in DL, and by that I mean ability-point wise). Ill have Super Manipulator as my super ability. Now, this involves quickly researching an economic and productional base whil
damn... well thanks for answering.
All right, I cant wait to get my hands on the grand expansion, Dark Avatar. But my credit card (or well, mom's) is completely out of money, but I myself have the raw cash available to buy it if it had been retail, which annoys me alot. Anyway is there a solution to this or do I have to simply wait? anything really, ive waited long enough allready!
HURRAY CHEERS BRAVOOOO! Just wanted to thank you for making this sexcellent game, its absolutely awesome... Just keep working on it, youll take strategy games everywhere to a new level much like Blizzard. Even though youve allready done it, to be honest. Civ4 cant compare to this. KEEP IT GOING!
