Making the AI in any game moddable in any form just isn't done in the gaming industry. There are probably exceptions to this, but I can not think of any at the moment. Besides the 'difficulty' settings

I'd pay, but only if there is a guarantee that the damn hardpoints will be symetrical, and that it fixes the old pieces.
My three new ships from left to right, the War Pig, Scripture, and Orion.
Good job Croc, that frieghter is awesome. Utility ships are the hardest to make look 'cool' IMHO. This whole page is filled with cool designs, inspiration is a flowin'.
Ymene, I would call it coincidental before anything else, not to mention that the Arceans are a friendly race. Just to be safe though, if you are setting up a new game and a new race called 'skynet' appears, it would then be a good idea to burn your computer as quickly as possible.
"You know, the Torians are attacking us with ships IDENTICAL to your dumb little custom designs. I wonder how that happened?"
I don't really understand the whole game mechanic of making constructors despensable. Wouldn't it have been easier to just have one expensive constructor, and building the base or upgrading takes a set amount of time and money. After the project is done you resuse the constructor for the next upgrade. During the upgrade your constructor is sitting there so that it can be intercepted, significantly less constructors need to be built/micromanaged, it doesn't unbalance the game, and everyone is
I've got a 'Chaintech' 6600GT and don't have any graphical problems. I only have an Athlon XP 1800+ so things get a little choppy in the late game though. Definately need to upgrade this summer. That's the only thing I hate about computer gaming, constantly upgrading, optimizing, forking out hundreds of dollars. Gotta feed the habit though
