the XML has entries for some weapons and ship components I've never seen before. The three I'm most interested in are: Psyonic Beam Psyonic Missile Psyonic Shredder How do you get these? I've tried researching up to Phasors II, which seems to be the requirement of Psyonic Beam, but I don't see it in the ship component list. Does someone have a list of all the "special" components, like Subspace Rebounder, Na

I won't tell you, but try adding even more question marks to your question. Only then will I think you are cool enough to be told the answer.
I heard the Metaverse used to have a combat simulator, but it was taken down because it had some problems. Since then, a Java 5.0 based simulator (command line interface, sigh) and a web based simulator (incorrect dice roll values and "AI") have been released. Has there been anything else? I'd really like to see a simulator with an elegant interface that works, or have someone tell me the exact rules so I can write one myself. So far, I k
I know that trading to major civs usually leads to your technology getting traded to other civs, but what about trading stuff to minor civs? Do they freely trade them away?
Trade goods like Aphrodisiac, Diplomatic Translators, Frictionless Clothing, etc, provide empire-wide bonuses to your civilization (or so it seems... I would sure hope it's not a bonus for just the planet they are built on hehe) What happens when you trade them to other civs? Do they get the benefit of the trade good forever? Do you keep the benefit given by the trade good after you trade one? Do you have infinite copies of the trade good
It's cool how some of the default races comes with a few extra ability points for you to customize with. The Iconian Refuge, for example, comes with 6 extra points, while most of the others have 2-3. Unfortunately, if you spend these extra points sometimes the default abilities of the civilization you're customizing vanish. For example: If you use any of the remaining 3 points from the Drengin, their soldiering +25% bonus disapp
After I completed research in Singularity Driver IV (I think) I was suddenly able to put this disgustingly powerful weapon component on my ships: Nano Ripper Space: 10 Damage: 8 (Mass Driver) It does 4 times as much damage as Singularity Drivers, which deal only 2 damage, but costs 6 times as much. I have a great economy, so I can support creating a few fleets of these... Now my question is: Does the nano ripper always
I've designed dozens of ships, and due to how my research carries out (I don't always go for the same strategy every game) there's almost zero use for the ship designs in subsequent games because I won't have researched some particular branch of technology. But the ship designs are spamming the technology screen (under "New Designs Available") with a huge list of ship names and required technologies. Is there a way to turn this feature off, or manual
I am used to Master of Orion II's race customization system where you can create any of the playable races ability for ability. The 20 points you had to spend matched up exactly. But in Galactic Civiliations II, I find some of the races spend at least 12 points (instead of 10 we are allowed in a custom race) and other spend under 5 (the New Iconians only have Economics +10 and Research +20). Does it have something to do with the amount of starting
