I have chosen to first get the models up and running (to see which models are actually going to be used) and then ask permission of each model owner to use them in my mod, removing those models that are denied access. I would never post anything downloadable without full consent. I will post original contributors again though, from now on! Thanks! -Brian

#1. Yes I would love to see heroes. Good call that they should draw a salary and have an avatar. #2. I would love to see more “functional” ships like carriers, though it might be hard to justify since your small/tiny ships could theoretically travel as fast as your mother ships. #3. Here’s the scoop. None of the ships that I have released recently have been my own ship models. Sorry if I did not make myself clear. I started this modding project by first building the ships from scratch and using existing high detail (production quality) models. I was spending countless hours hacking and slashing, rebuilding geometry, creating new textures, etc. The oberth, shuttle, the original delta flyer, the Magallan, the Excelsior, and a Galaxy class (not posted)

MOIISKA - Well after speaking with Cari, it looks like these hulls are going to have to take the place of some existing hull type, as the game will not allow me to ass a 6th type of hull. What this will mean for building ships though, is that all my hulls will appear as standard ship hulls, organized the way the current hulls are, so it will be quite organized (hopefully). -Brian
I would love (and pay) to see depth added in the way of special gadgets for your ships and planets, including the ability to set up controlled wormholes, small force fields, limited cloaks (for ships and planets), hologram emitters (make your fleet look bigger then it actually is), space mines (the ability to “drain” power from enemy ships for a few rounds), and ways of bombarding a planet without having to invade (for all those games when you don’t have enough population to invade, but still wi
Stock are about 2000 polys and less. These hulls will fit into the game as standard ship hulls, the same way that you normally access ship hulls.. They will have mount points and everything. I am not 100% sure how I will implement the mod portion of it yet though. -Brian
I agree, and I realize that it actually is a great idea. However, shouldn't the switch-over point be in the middle of the screen? Some of the "zones" are far from equal (the ship viewer in the "appearance" tab of a custom race for instance). -Brian

alterans, well there is a total conversion in the works already (not done by me). They have expressed interest in using my federation models, so you –might- see them in that mod as well. As for me doing all the ships myself, the biggest issue is time. I definitely wouldn’t do so many ships for other races. Maybe one-two per ship class, that’s it. El Conquest, Damn, you remember! : ) I’ve spend a lot of time on that model (started again from the base mesh actually) Thing
I would love the ability to create (and block) controlled wormholes. It would be not too bad to implement, but difficult to write an AI routine to utilize them correctly. -Brian

All great suggestions. Lots of lists to consult!! Some of those requested here are ships that I do plan on doing, so stay tuned. I could do starbases (though I think all races would get the new models). I will consider it. Not sure if the mod architecture will allow different starbases for each race. Any ideas?
