There isn't an option that I know of but there is a little trick you can use. when you aren't looking at a ship you don't have to watch it move, so to make it faster pick a point on the map and zoom in all the way so you can hardly see anything. Your computer will move all the ships in the background so you dont have to watch every one move.

I believe that this is to keep the player from exploiting the destruction on the AI. If you attack and fail but all the improvements are still destroyed you make the planet basically usless to to the AI preventing it from reatliating from that planet anymore almost guranteeing that the player can conquer it. With all of the improvements still there the planet can still produce ships and more population for defence. Once the player gets it though with all of the improvements gone it also give the

I have been curious about this as well, since I haven't been contacted either. I was also wondering if we will have access to the beta when it starts in November. I'm thinking we will but it would be nice to know for sure. I'm sure you are busy over there and as noted above I really don't mean to pry, but it would be nice to know what is going on if it's not to much trouble.

Let's see here. Real time 4X strategy, tactical battles that can be left to the AI when necessary,in depth gameplay, interesting story line, great looking graphics, what more is there that I could want? This game definately has my interest, and if it turns out the way I think it is, my money is as good as spent. I will definately be keeping an eye on this one. Way to go stardock for bringing this to us.

My first TBS was Outpost by Sierra. I still remember it fondly. Earth was destroyed by an asteroid and you had to take the remaining survivors into space and set up a colony on a distant planet. You had to send probes to scan for planets. Then pick a planet decide how many people you were taking and what resources. Then you build your colony, research new techs to be able to upgrade your buildings and keep your people happy. defend against space plague, mine resources and more.

well, it's probable that the korath were insipired by the korah, but accusing stardock of ripping annother game off seems a bit unfair I don't think Kanaric was accusing anyone of ripping of another game. He was just wondering if there might be a connection because of the similarity.

I have never seen a resource generate mid game. I did however see a resource base be there one turn and gone on the next. One time a mining base dissapeared as the Thalians were sending constructors to upgrade it. There was a constructor right next to it the turn it was gone. I have seen this happen on lower difficulty settings as well, including tough and challenging.

Yes! Here here, for Darth Nihilus! Just posted another game, it was wicked though clocking in at over 50k. For the empire!

Lucky you. It's taken a while but its turning out alright. Three races down five more to go. Luckily alot of worlds defected which really helps.

Ok I just finished testing the "phantom starpot" issue I was talking about. Basically it allows you to build a ship at a planet even though there isn't a starport built. You can only build one of the ship, but I find it really weird. Basically you take any planet with a starport and set it to build a ship. Preferably one that takes several weeks so you can see it happening. Then decomission the starport. Now that the starport is gone you would think that the ship would stop being built, but it d

I'm a little new to bug reporting so bear with me here. In my latest game I’m playing on maso in a gigantic galaxy, and they year is currently 2048. I've been noticing something really weird going on. It seems that, for reasons I can’t comprehend, the AI seems to be abandoning their resource starbases. Nobody is at war with anybody else, and there are no minors on the map to attack them. They just seem to disappear. As far as I know the player cannot decommission them so I don’t believe the AI c

K.R.Y.O - Killing Robot of Yor Origin Since when was Kryo a member of the Yor collective? As far as I know he's always been a Jedi... There was an into story on the old GC1 empire site, but seeing as its gone now I can't link to it.

The AI does not just let resources go. If you see one come available it means the starbase was destroyed. If they were not at war with another major, then perhaps a minor did it, or it was a minor races resource that a major took out. Thats what I thought but it couldn't have been taken out. There we absolutely no minors on the map at the time a

Don't just sit there! Exterminate them while you have the chance!! Lol, thats what I'm doing! I just dont have the resources to fight eight races at once. I've got a military rating of 280, with my entire fleet and 78000 troops ready and waiting on the terran border ready to invade when I gave the word. I had to to go back to before all

27 Replies 30,573 Views

That is a frightening number of ships... And looking at all the light blue dots on the mini map there have to be hundreds of ships! Not to mention their real military is lurking out there somewhere. I find it weird though that the AI was abandoning galactic resources so late in the game. Before this monstrosity happened I just picked up an economy an influence and a military. you would think the AI would never give them up. They wouldn't trade me for them, so why just let them go?

Alliance victory is on, but your strategy will work. I just need to be allied with everyone except the race I want to pick off, namely the terrans at this point. Unfourtionately I have other things to attent to at the moment. I was busy building up my relations to get my last alliance and picking up abandoned galactic resources when I got the "Leader X was killed by terrorist group" event. Now I'm at war with the Altarians and even worse nearly the entire map is filled up with those weak "venga

Weird, my games always feature an effect that has the weakest power of the moment being entirely destroyed. That's what uasually happens to me. It give me a chance to piggy back on other peoples war and steal lots of planets from a weakened civ aka the Drengin is this game about 20 planets taken in lightening invasions by me. I really dont want t

So I'm playing my first maso difficulty game and the year is 2235. How I made it this far I'll never know... Anyway after a galactic gang up on the Drengin, pretty much everybody vs. them, the weirdest thing is happening. The whole darn galaxy is going peaceful on me! Already three civs, namely the Drath, Altarians, and the Terrans, have alliances with everyone. There isn't even a civ that has bad relations with another. Has anyone seen this before? I know I haven't... <img src="http://

For all of us that love GC2 we know that turn based strategy games can both be really fun and addictive. For many though it's not the first that we've ever played. I was wondering. What was the first TBS game that you've ever played. What was the one TBS game that you really enjoyed. The one that got you hooked on them. What was it like, and what made you enjoy it so much. My first and most treasured TBS game has to be Outpost by Sierra from back in the early 90's. It was a colony buil
