Well, I tried all of the suggestions in this thread and none of them worked. I even dispensed with miners all together. This has happened in modded and nonmodded games. I just sent in yet another savegame to stardock so hopefully they will do something about this. Until then, I am just going to go play something else.

I already submitted this to stardock but I thought I would ask here in case they missed it and also to see if anyone else has encountered this problem. I remember this game having this problem way back in the first release (dread lords) on a completely different computer, so I am surprised that the game still has this bug all these years later. I haven't played this game in years but it used to be that you could just delete the sizemod entry on a component and then increase the size of a ship and you could then have massive ships with tons of components. However, when I tried just that, the size of my modded components sky rocketed. What is the current way to achieve this?

I think you have made the AI troop transports a little too conservative. At least in my games, i have seen them waiting too far out of range or not built at all while planets sit there for the taking. Also someone needs to look at the quarterly report as it regularly reports someone not being at war (and unpopular) when in fact they are very much at war. Request: war declarations of the AI's reported as a pop-up (minors too).

You can't import .x models directly into 3ds but with a converter prog you can change them into a format that can be imported (although you may lose texture info). Once you start tweeking them you will need to retexture them anyway because the original textures won't fit correctly. You can replace the core models. You just need to use the same names for the .x file and assosiated texture files such as each one's .png files and .dds files. The .dds file

Hmm. Here is the panda .x exporter that they use: http://www.andytather.co.uk/Panda/directxmax.aspx for 3ds. I can't tell if it will work for version 7. It doesn't look like it but I may be wrong. Perhaps a conversion prog will work, but all the conversion progs I have looked at don't do the export png texture thing. Perhaps I am missing something. While you can surely make and texture ships in version 7, exporting may be a problem if the panda plugin

I saw something similiar twice today. Both times, for a turn, the terrans suddenly controled the entire map. Both times Drath planets flipped to the terrans and the Drath were esentially destroyed. It would then go back to normal on the next turn or so.

Hi. I have been exploring converters that export in the .x format because my models are currently in .obj format. Anyway apparently there are 3 types: .x binary mesh .x ASCII mesh .x ASCII frame One converter also offers a ton of sub oprions which I do not understand. Right now I am coming to grips with modo but I can convert obj to .x using a converter program. If that doesn't go smoothly then I will look into 3dMax and Maya although I have heard the learning curve on those progs are insane. I wish bryce would export! Is there a special export plugin you are using?

One thing that I did not understand from reading the manual involved upgrading starbases with modules. Do you have to send a constructor ship to a starbase every time you want to upgrade the starbase? Or can the starbase construct upgrades itself?
