Okay new update posted at top, 2 am spelling errors corrected and such. That's pretty sweet, can I nick that for a desktop? That’s what it is there for, and thanks for the complement! spelling
I'm surprised I was this capable with no sleep, usually it just gets to the point that the word muffin is funny. Creating desktop backgrounds at 2 in the morning is probably one of the warning signs that you like a game too much. Keep up the great work Frogboy

Drengin - James Earl Jones (I find your lack of skill disturbing) Altarians - W. Shatner (Our five turn mission, to explore strange new PQ 0 worlds, to seek out new life and pester civilizations . . . ) Korx - Ben Stein (Today we have a similar debate over this. Anyone know what this is? Class? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone seen this before? The Learning Curve. Anyone know what this says? It says that at this point on the revenue curve,
Yor are perfect for ruling the universe with an Iron fist. However, the only way they can keep all those goodie two shoes and even most neutral civs from grouping together against them is to keep a strong military and keep the other civs busy fighting one another. I love the Yor, but if you focus too much on social at the start you'll quickly find every civ that has a gun - is pointing it directly at you.
Brad, any news on the "4 starbases per sector rule"? Is this one coming with 1.1? BOOOO! DT no like caps on starbases. There is something beautiful about ringing a couple of planets with 6 or more econ starbases and being able to make any social improvement or ship in a couple of turns. A
What I'd like is the ability to BUILD planets. It would have to be every difficult, requiring a sun with less than 5 planets already and dozens of ships to build up the planet (each ship requiring a large device that requires its own technology). Once the basic planet frame is built you'd have to pick if you wanted the planet to be a lush green world (takes long time to build, has medium total tile count but has morale and research boost) desert worl
As far as I know you can't have any kind of espionage agaisnt minor races. I've also had a weird problem where they build starbases, but for all purposes the game treats them as if the starbases are not really there. I built several starbases one sector away (should be min of 3) without any problem. Its my theory that the game doesn't know what to do with minor race starbases all the time, which might explain why you can't buy them (I assu
Another option is to design ships that will have the advantage against the Pirate fleet. If they are missile users add missile defense and hit them with weapons they don't have defenses for. If that’s not an option, since its a tiny map, build a military starbase or two and load it up with all sorts of enhancers. You might have half their numbers, but with the proper assists you'll take them out with little to no loss. If you ca
I have not played GC1 in a while but IF my memory doesnot betray me, I think we had the option to tell the AI to remove their starbases and ships from "OUR" territory or sphere of influence. I never played GC1 mayito8888, but I wish we had something like that now. Its damned hard to deal with a neigh
Whoa. All I can say. Stardock RULES. I do have a suggestion for 1.2 though. You see I love when the aliens send me a message. When I get that "Your starbase is a little too close and is making us a bit worried. And congrats on the name, Military starbase 1023 is superb." or warning that they have heard rumors that I'm going to attack them, its a awesome feeling. Its things like that which make me forget completel
It makes sense in so much that being evil is the easy way out and that being good is harder, but I have to say that a little something for the good people would be nice. I'm not talking about flipping things so that bad always suffers and good always wins out. I mean you have 4 choices, all reward evil and hurt good, then you get a 5th choice and it helps good and hurts evil. Just even things out a bit more. Of all the choices I've been offered I can only remember one that offered
I love information warfare SO much. You target a planet, its got a heck of a lot of farms on it, thousands and thousands of soldiers. However, you have been at war with them for a while and they are hurting for credits, so they raise taxes to keep in the black. That tax has lowered that approval rating to a lovely low, and for a mere 800 credits you can turn a very large section of that planet into cannon fodder, and even if you loose the battle, you'll wipe out a HUGE section of
Is it me or did Talsworthy just manage to piss off so many, so badly that not only did several posts indirectly respond to his whine, but Shalkto had to use his name! I sense a great disturbance in the force, as if a thousand voices all called out ... and had their fleets turn on Talsworthy and order him over a doom ray to return to his gankfests and twitch contests and never compare those things to a 4X game ever ever again. I love the no multiplayer, why? Because I don't
Hallowed are the Stardock. Those who abandon the path are evil. Hallowed is the Frogboy.
Or sticky one of these answer threads so the answer is easy to get to. Then again we have already have a lot of those.
My focus is on money. On all my worlds I place 2 factories, 1 farm, 2-3 morale boosters (depending on the planet’s needs to keep happy at 69% tax), and a market center or two. After that I pick what the planet is going to be based on special tiles and available space (ie a planet with a lot of spare tiles becomes a manufacturing world, or a planet with a 300% research tile becomes a research world). Ask for the worlds that can’t support all that I place a morale booster or two then solid rese
I have yet to play a game where I don't pay the Korx to attack someone every few months. Its fun and it keeps everyone busy attacking someone who's not me.
+ Fixed Planetary improvements: Virtual Reality Center and Stock Exchange to be better. What exactly are their bonuses now? I hated Stock exchanges and refused to research them or use them, so I'm wondering if now they might be worth it.
Inquiring DTs want to know (aka shameless bump)
i have a planet, lets says Earth, loads of building blocks, i will build sya to entertainment centers, a couple of research, a couple factories, then one market, 1 or 2 farms, space port and maybe an emberssy, and the taxtion on say 45% and the production slider say on 80% and yet i will still only have my peoples happiness at 49%
How exactly does one get their medals from the metaverse to show up in the forms? Secondly does anyone know what all the awards are, or what they mean (the non self explanatory ones I mean, like 2nd lieutenant)?
I'm not sure if deleting designs removes it completely or not. It seems like the quick build menu is showing the contents of some data structure that wasn't cleared properly when the design was obsoleted from the shipyard. I am guessing it's a bug. Another reason to make sure you name your ships well until these bugs are ironed out. It does not
