Fleet Size?

I am in the middle of a Tiny system game. I created my own race.
All has been going great. I have been having a blast. Then Pirate fleets started showing up. I dont mind them at all except they all have much bigger fleets then I do.
I understand that researching logistics will give me more fleet points.. I have maxed out my research on logistics.
There are no more opt under logistics to research. My max logistic fleet points is 28.
This gives me around 12 to 14 small and med sized mixed ships. The pirate fleets have 22 to 26 ships per fleet. With 3 or 4 huge ships in the mix. I am getting pounded.
I watched the tutorial a few times. I noticed the player in the tutorial had 64 fleet points to spend. How do I get more points if I already maxed out my research on logistics?
So far this game is awesome. I cant think of anything to gripe about.
I just need a little help with getting more fleet points.

Another option is to design ships that will have the advantage against the Pirate fleet. If they are missile users add missile defense and hit them with weapons they don't have defenses for.

If that’s not an option, since its a tiny map, build a military starbase or two and load it up with all sorts of enhancers. You might have half their numbers, but with the proper assists you'll take them out with little to no loss.

If you can’t outnumber them, consider over powering them.
