Yesterday I ran Microsoft Update and one of the 9 updates it found was a display driver for my NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200. I installed you driver and found it had in fact downgraded my v8.1.9.8 2005/12/10 driver to v4.5.2.3 2003/07/28 and changed my settings from 1280x1024 resolution and 32bit colors to 640x480 resolution and 4bit colors! My display looked awful! I went to www.nvidia.com download and installed v8.4.2.1 2006/03/09 and it automatically re

In v1.0X the AI does not value speed or sensors. Based what I have read (I have not played the v1.1 Betas) the AI now values speed but still ignores sensors. Speed, sensors, and attack strength (weapons and logistics) are key to exploiting the HUGE attack advantage. That is how I have won each of the Dread Lord's campaigns (to date, I'm currently winning on the one after Apocalypse) on level Tough without losing any combat ships. If you can see the

You can already buy votes. Votes at the UP is influence. On the trade screen, you'll note that under bc is a tab for influence. Influence are esssentially votes. just trade goods, tech, whatever for influence. When you buy influence you are permanently buying votes; I was proposing buying votes for a single

v1.1 makes better use of speed but what about sensors? There is no need to waste space by placing sensors on combat ships; a sensor ship could escort a combat fleet (it would not be part of the fleet and thus would not take up any of its' logistics points).

Currently the game desides which proposals will be voted on by the UP. How about allowing the players (both human and A.I.) to submit proposals for consideration? Either all would be voted on or one would be picked at random. Also it would be nice to be able to try to buy the vote of another empire.

Mascrinthus: The fact that you picked all your civ bonuses to give you an overwhelming advantage in first strike is really important information. You're more likely to get your problem fixed if you say "When you have super speed and sensors the computer always loses" then if you just demand they change the whole combat system. I made no DEMAND; I poi

I disagree. Rather than 'fix' the system (which, although simple, is fitting in this type of TBS game), fix how the AI conducts battles (i.e. increase speed of ships, create sensor ships, use starbase assist modules effectively, etc). I think both should be done. Why should the attacker shoot first? The defender would see him coming with
