I just ended an extremely frustrating Beta game because during play, the Pirate ships, after being reduced to 0 Hit Points, would simply remain where they had died, sparking and smoking. The first ones that did it were not a problem, because they were in open space. I believe that their should be some sort of checks and balances for the changes in economic status. I was about six turns into a war when a recession appeared! In most cases, warfare stimulates the economy, adds thousands of jobs and pushes manufacturing to its' limits. Therefore, the chance of recession during wartime should be very, VERY slim. I've had a problem only with the most recent Beta. Whenever I minimize the game by using the Windows key on my keyboard, I can restore it only by right-clicking on the minimized box and choosing "restore" from the menu. However, if I left-click on the box, it immediately gives me an "Invalid Call" error (No numbers, paths, or other detail) and the game closes completely. Also, the first method restores the game, but it takes a full 2 minutes or more
Upgrading a custom ship design caused the game to crash to the desktop as soon as I hit the save button while using the same name as the previous ship. I upgraded an older constructor design with new engines and life support, hit the save button and BAM! The End. Anyone else with this problem? I've done all of the Windows and DirectX upgrades so I don't think it's internal.
