Pirate ships not disappearing when destroyed

I just ended an extremely frustrating Beta game because during play, the Pirate ships, after being reduced to 0 Hit Points, would simply remain where they had died, sparking and smoking. The first ones that did it were not a problem, because they were in open space. However, when the final pirate ship was sestroyed while occupying the same space as a planet, the planet saw the pirate ship as protecting the planet and would not let me destroy the ship completely so I could invade the planet! I cycled the game for several turns, at least 50, and it never disappeared and never let a troop transport onto the planet. It showed no other ships within the planet's area, so I assume the pirate ship was the continuing problem - no attack worked and the ship constantly showed 0 HP.

I reported the not-disappearing Pirate ship in open space earlier and send it a screen shot, and if I recall correctly, a saved game to help Stardock debug it. I haven't seen a Pirate ship on top of a planet, however. Do you have a saved game that will demonstrate the problem? If so, you could send it to [email protected].

I sure do - I just finished it so the saves are fresh. I'll send it along right now.
