Still loving this mod. Shouldnt discount the possibility that Marvin or Tolmekain are Stardock employees righting a wrong in cotgnito. I've noticed there are a few building that seem overpowered. The area of agony and healing pools are so affordable, so powerful and come so early that they outstrip all other moral buildings. Might consider raising the maint costs on these or adding lesser versions early on so they arnt must haves.
I like the idea of 1 farm per planet. Maybe call them (orbital) farm control centers ? Its rarely worth the trouble to build more than 1 farm and I never use the food bonus tiles because the planet's population tends to get unmanageably large.
I'm going to work this newest version into my gaming rotation. Thanks a bunch Tol!
Heh I was just thinking to go to them for answers to your question about the modules..not a patch :) It might be fruitful to program up a spam bot or whatever to get their attention. Certainly doesnt seem like they are reading their own forum.
Dumb question but have you guys tried to ask the stardock people for help ?
why bother with the Korath when we cant get them to use their sporeship?
How about fixing the bonked AI in Galciv2:ToA please ? OR at least helping out the people fixing it and sharing some of the profit from the game?
The Yor are #1 in my current 2.0 game. The Krynn/Torians are sharing last place. I'm tied for first place and the humans are nipping at my heels. Dregen are kinda bleh. The moo2 minors in my game each have a few colonies but are not dominate at all. I've noticed several races have tons of money they arnt putting to good use. It lets them buy my tech without going broke though heh. I've noticed the moral and economy bonus on some of the evil building are much higher than similar rac
Under the basic Galciv2\mods folder -not- in the Twilight folder, then you need to go into the game and tell it to load it under options.
In 2.0 it still costs money to build the first starbase..given that the poor AI is constantly broke from buying my crappy tech its no wonder they dont get starbases going. They should prob just be totally free as any cost was built into the constructor. The Ai really needs to jump more on the galactic resources..seems to just completely ignore them.
I decided to go into the starbase file and half the mining values. Do you happen to know where the original 5% bonus you get for your first base is coded ? Thats the only one I cant find.
Is it possible to modify the number of galactic resources the in game map generator puts on a map?
I had previous set all my Ais to generic..with this mod can i set them back and expect races like the dregin and yor to function and thrive ?
I'm cheering for the other guys! Humans are filth :)
I've only played one game thus far but it seems like this fix has balanced out the AI pretty well..the races are bit slow militarily (lowering the cost significantly of planetary invasion might be a fix..as it seems to be a motivator for military development), and they dont use non-resource star bases enough. As long as the human player doesnt do an early rush they make for a good game. Hopefully more aggressive military development will come if you are able to fix patch together the evil
pretty kools stuff..but far too many wings on spacecraft...those things would be shredder by micro meteor impacts and the like. In space you dont need wings or symmetry since there isnt any air flow or drag unless you are traveling for super long periods.
I havent used this mod yet but the Stardock devs should be embarrassed and ashamed at the condition they released this product in. Every dollar they get should be forwarded to people like you who are doing their work for them. There has got to be a copyright law somewhere that grants ownership to anyone who takes a broken product that has been abandoned and makes it work. So with this mod do I need to make any changes myself to the raceconfig or in game personality sett
Here is a better description from one player who has put out a mod to fix this..I havnt tried it yet myself.. [quote who="Tolmekian" reply="7" id="2896411"] The AIPersonality refers to the actual AI used. Twilight has four AIPs that the major races use, one for the minors, and one for the Dread Lords. Of the four major AIPs, two are broken and one is flawed, in my opinion. That leaves only one to work with, though now that this mod is out I plan to see if
Yay someone is working on this! How are you editing the tech trees and whatnot for the individual races? I guess elemental and that MMO arnt the only thing Stardock released totally broken. Wonder how far back the trail goes for Mr "Gamers Bill of Rights" aka Fraudster.
I was wondering when we can expect stardock to complete this game and provide functional AI for the computer races? Its been repeatedly pointed out since 2009 that certain races dont function since Twilight. If this game had been abandoned can the devs please provide information as to how to edit the computer ais and what each "personality" does.
Its not bad so much as it is broken. Since the devs are hiding their heads in the sand I'll try to explain. There are 4 backbone AIs for main races with are further tweaked to fit that particular races characteristics. 2 of those backbone AI are dysfunctional. One doesnt expand and the other doesnt build on planets under certain circumstances. Of the two remaining functional AIs one is extremely aggressive in colonization and the other is economic. It leads to rather repetitive predictabl
Dont buy this product. Stardock has known about the crippled AI's in Twilight of the Arnor since 2009 and has done nothing about it. Yet another gaming company trying to squeeze a few extra bucks out of an abandoned product.
respectfully that answer is not useful or insightful. you'd make a great politician though :) Would it be possible to get a more detailed breakdown of what the current AI personalities do in order to make the best of things until you do decide to work on this problem which you've know about for 3 years now?
