Unfortunately I cannot create new posts with this excellent forum software, so I post this here and hope someone from Stardock reads it: pre-order using PayPal This came up a lot of times at the forum, but I didn't find an answer yet. How can I purchase Stardoc products without using a credit card. As you know, credit cards aren't that famous in good old Europe (at least continental Europe, so no offense my British friends). I didn't mind becaus

I'm lucky, my graphics card died (we all know, GalCiv2 killed it, don't we?). So while I'm having problems with the parcel service that lost my replacement, I have a lot of time watching football. I'm also living in Germany, so I hope my new card will arrive as soon as we are world champion again (sorry Brazil, sad enough Argentina!), until then there's not much time playing GalCiv anyhow <br/
2b) I wish this would be optional, I considered it a feature to keep the zoomed in minimap stay at a particular position and use it to direct my fleets from all over the galaxy to this certain point.
There is an excellent tutorial video within the game...
Well, maybe without controlling them, but they should leave your fleets and planets alone. On the other hand, shit happens
You only have options for 'male and female', you need one for people like me which is 'not sure' Create a second account and quote twice, that's what I do
Please have a look at this thread about a starbase gouvernor: Link

Actually, yes... it gives you a 100% economy bonus, and that means +100% economy for ALL planets. True! The Mind Control Center is by far the mightiest planetary improvement in the game. If you align to evil, don't forget to build one.
One more thing to mention, as the bonus applys to the trade income the freighter produces while in the starbases sphere of influence, it make sense to build them as far away of the trade routes starting planet as possible.
I didn't know someone asked for even more arguments _for_ multiplayer, but as you already posted them, please let me state that I'm completely _against_ multiplayer to be included with the best singleplayer game I saw. As the devs told us in some of the journals, adding multiplayer would take a lot of effort (3/4 of a complete add-on development IIRC) and because Stardocks ressources as a small company are limited, this would mean drawbacks to singleplayer enchancements. Lo
You still can enable the old auto-focus behavior in the options. Doesn't "c" center on the starbase when the window pos up? If not, this would be a nice improvement.
Does this mean that one of the new races are called the Carians? I don't think so: The Frog People -> Frogboy The Carians -> CariElf Looks like these are just funny race names for the demo mod, nothing serious (I know, nothing is really serious about a game, except anything about GalCiv2, the mother of all games ...)
+ If mini map is zoomed in, it will now update its position if you move the camera (it updates once the camera stops moving) Ouch, without auto-focus in 1.2 I considered this a feature, it was very usefull (at least for me) to zoom into a particular sector and then send fleets from far away to that point via the minimap. However, thank you
If something like that will be included, please leave it optional as it is exactly that kind of scripted AI that I don't like and don't want to see in GalCiv2. The AI is getting better and better and IMHO that is the part Stardock should concentrate on, not to circumvent possible weakness (and by the way, they improved the AI with every patch). For example I was playing HoI2 for a long time and it is a great game, but people could easily beat the AI by concentrating on its weakness (t
I would love to see some way of being allowed to use mods (like hulls, jewelery, fleet formations in the battle viewer ...) that doesn't change the game mechanics in metaverse games without getting a cheat flag. Hmm, I think this means "yes"!
You don't even have to save, just start your metaverse game, Alt+Tab to the desktop, disconect from the internet and continue playing. After you finished your game GalCiv2 tries to connect with the metaverse to send your score, so windows will ask you if you want to dial in again.
Thanks for bumping four times, must have read over this thread the first three bumps! I second that, would be nice to have the game round correctly though it is a minor issue at all.
There is a complete tutorial video about this topic in your game... Short explanation: There is a little Symbol on the bootom left of the main interface, just click on it and create a new rally point.
Dear CariElf, you did a great job making auto-focus an option and my psychotherapist loves you for that. I also love you and your crew, the UI, AI and performance enchancements in 1.2beta009 are great and with the new combat system, tough is really tough now for me. But you have to know, I won't mary you before you kill this anoying auto-select. It's good to have the main map stay where I want to have my focus at, but by selecting random (?) ships all around the galaxy
My first 1.2beta009 game was also flagged as a cheater game and the mods folder were activated because it was the default setting. My second game now without the mods folder wasn't cheater flagged, but I can't tell if it has something to do with it or was just bad luck the first time. However I would like to know how this works and if we are not allowed to make use of the mods folder in metaverse games, the game itself should maybe just ignore that option. One more qu
I know while I won't be interested in the new campaign (I also didn't even try the dread lords campaign, sandbox rules!) lots of players are and the campaign will surely be a major part of the expansion. Having a look on what you released with GalCiv2 there is absolutely no doubt that the expansion pack will be worth the money and sandbox games will also benefit from new races and features, so I can't wait to hold it in hands. Keep up your good work and keep up that frequent journal ar
Be sure you read the Journals... your "bug" was actually a highly requested feature. Yes and while all the other improvements are great (new combat system and AI improvements make tough really tough, graphics engine feels smoother on my GeForce4400TI now, ...) this is still my new feature number one! BTW, it would be nice to have some au
I had the same issue and sent a zipped savegasme to Stardock now. Just one question, does that mean we should stop submitting metaverse games until this bug gets addressed, because I don't want to keep them busy manualy correcting metaverse scores?
I really hate the fundamentalists, this event appears sometimes when you align with evil. Last time they took only two of my planets, unfortunately one of them was my economic capital and at this time I was a bit short at all. Needless to say that I was completely doomed, because I had no transports in reserve to get my planet back. The Pirate event also happened a few times in my games, but late game and so there was no problem to wipe them out.
