OK, I understand not having mods in the metaverse, but I would like to know if I can get away with cosmetic changes and still be OK in the metaverse. For example, I would like to change the primary colors of the various races. Since that does not effect the game play in any way shape or form, would i be able to do this and still submit to metaverse? Thanks

If you know from the start you want a tech victory, its not hard at all. I researched the last tech in 5 turns. You have to build up lots of discovery spheres, keep your research slider up, and this is the part many people miss... each planet must focus on research by clicking the little target button in the research production box.
Turn 1, set colony ship to move 3 spaces. Hit end turn. ship moves 2 spaces, date advances. Hit end turn again. Ship moves 1 space, date advances. Go to options, change "skip moves" toggle, repeat experiment, get same results. Can I at least get a developer to jump in and say, "No Zor, you are wrong because......" or maybe "Yes Zor, we will look into this...." I am not oneof those kids who doesnt know
I noticed that any post where the poster is acting like a child whos mommy took his candy away, screaming and throwing a tantrum, those posts get answers. Oh sure, they reply with insults, BUT they answer the darned question. Perhaps I should change my tactics if I want to actualy get answers... I can put up with a few insults to get a good answer here and there.
Hmmm... so all I have to do to get people to answer my legit questions is scream and cry like a baby? Ive got posts that go ignored that have real questions in them, maybe I should go scream and throw a tantrum so everyone will actualy look at those posts.
Im still going to bet his game crashes on GC2 because hes playing with the same PC he played GC1 with All jokes aside, I hope your problems are fixed, but I dont think a patch will be what does it for you. 98% of the people who play this game play it crash free, including myself. We dont need a patch, we need to figure out why your co
So many questions, so few answers.... but thank you for confirming that this isnt an imaginary forum, lol. Maybe if more people ask, someone with the knowledge will answer!
I make colony ships with an extra engine on them, then buy one per turn until I am unable to buy one without my treasury going under 0. I never, ever, lease. I turn my military slider to 0, because I will be purchasing my ships, not building them. I also turn my research slider to zero, because I have found in the early game expansion is more important than techs. So, 100% on social building.... and then build factory a
You could always just use the scenario drop down menu, and select the one that says "Giant sized fleets"or some such thing. This increases your logistics variables and allows fleets to have huge numbers of ships in them. Or, research the logistics tree. Or Both. If you are talking about total ships in game... AFAIK there is no limit to the total number of ships in game, no matter the scenario. If there arent enough tot
Love the idea!
You are so right. I am on a crusade to get someone to care about this and do something about it. Extra movement at end of autopilot turns are skipped, no matter your choice in the options. This is a problem, as it means you must move each ship its exact number of movement points each turn, or waste the moevent. At best you can count 35 tiles for a ship with 5 movement points and know nothing will be wasted. Try factoring tha
If the autopilot was enabled simply by you setting a destination and it is the autopilot that makes the final move, any extra movement points are lost -- which makes sense I just now noticed that, after reading the topic again. Ok, so If I do not want to waste movement points (and show me s
So it really is against the rules to know how the scoring system works in any detail whatsoever? Am I asking some stupidly newbish question that is answered on page one of the manual or something? Is this in some invisible forum no one but me can see?
Yes, we have tested all of those options backwards and forewards. Bottom line is, if you hit end turn and a ship only has 1 tile left to travel in its auto pilot, it stops there, wastes the rest of its movement points, and bam, its next turn. Doesnt seem to matter what the skip option is set to. Test it yourself, on whatever options you like. If you can find some combination of settings and test it and prove that doesnt happen, P
Just want to clarify for the developers that movement points are left unspent. If your ship has 1 space left to move on autopilot, and it can move 10 spaces, 9 of those moves are wasted when you hit end turn and the date changes. Seems like something the developers might want to know about?
Tap tap tap, is this thing on?
There are many ways to cook a goose. I do not defend my planets. I keepfleets of fast ships nearmy borders, ready to take action against any incursion. Sensors are imortant for this, as well as speed. Eyes of the universe is perfect for this. Occasionaly I might have a planet invaded, but that is not frequent because transports are like fish in a barrel. "Oh look, 3 transports 15 tiles away. Next turn they a
Am I in a church or library or something? Do I need to contact tech support and ask them this? Do I need to speak more clearly so everyone can understand the question? I am usualy a polite person, but... this is getting frustrating.
Ok I get it... this is a taboo subject, like asking a southern baptist if he has intimate relations... right?
I recomend starting in a sandbox game, small galaxy, not very difficult settings, and play a few games before you play the campaign at all. Then you will know what settings to put everything on and you wont wonder if you are missing something everytime you hit "end turn"
I use economic bases. I try to find an area where there are several planets together, and i space out several economic starbases around them. I put only the production increasing mods on them. Like a boulder going down hill, this gains momentum, and you quickly realise you have a produxtion powerhouse sector that has +300% production, and that applies to military, social, "AND" research production. (Not "or", but "AND"... importa
Your going to get all kinds of advice here. What I do is pretty not so obvious to most people. I never research weapons or defences, I trade for them, and not for all of them, just one type of offense, period. Even then I let the ai research 2 or 3 techs before I trade for the most recent one they researched. I do research warp drives, and I DONT trade that unless it is unavoidable. Same with logistics.
The next update is going to update the scoring system. This is wonderfull, because it means there IS a scoring system, that your scores are not generated at random. Why would I say such a silly thing? Because I have been asking, and asking, but no one has any clue where there might be an actual description of the scoring system. All I get is vague references "seems like long games get more points" and things like that.
Just wondering if topics here need to be bumped or, as I suspect, the developers are on the ball and I can assume they read the post?
Ok thanks Ill go try it out so I can show my uber noob medals!
