-Population does not effect production or research. Are you sure about that? Interesting. I would be curious as to why.... If I have two planets where neither one of them have any manufacturing or research facilities and there's 5 billion people on one of them, and 0.5 billion on the other... why do I see a much larger n

Hello, So the game was working for you at some point in time previously? Are you trying to allude to that in your post? Because that point is not very clear in your 'one-liner' prior to slapping in the debug.err. I do not know how to analyze the debug.err very well, but... Are you trying to play a game you saved BEFORE you updated to v1.1, AFTER updating to v1.1? If that's what your doing it's possible that's what the problem is. From this error about 50 time in

Achronous said: Well, I usually position them between my opponent's planets, the more it covers the better. Then having researched the influence tech tree I send as many constructors as needed to build the Cultural Conquest module, and then all I have to do is wait a few turns and their planets are mine! <TABLE cel

I won a game the other day on masochist lvl by tech. I was so outclassed by all the other races it was the only way to win. It would seem to me that the AI should be alerted to the fact that you are ahead of them and on the path to victory by a Technology win, and if you are behind(outclassed) them in an area they could use to stop

I don't know exactly what the problem is, but you really should update all your device drviers... chipset, sound card, video card(you already did this one) networks card(not really needed for this game... but still). You should try and find out if there's newer drivers for the chipset in your system if you can. And at the very least you should update the drivers for your sound card. They are 11 months old by looking at the date, it's the Realtek device. And I have been t

Roger, I read you lokiju and LordFu. I made some mistakes in my post. I didn't look things over closely enough. The OP is a little older than I thought. One thing I should have noticed is the reference to 1.1 Beta installed. And so I messed up in saying that I would wonder why there wasn't a regular stable 1.1 version available when a beta of it is available. I should have said if there's a 1.2 Beta available then I would wonder where the regular 1.1 version is. If a 1.1

Btw, just read a part of the debug crash file. There is a sticky post on this forum about what you need to look at if you're having problems. One of the things that it strongly recommends before asking for help is, to make sure your drivers are up-to-date. Supreme Shogun pointed out your video driver is old. You claim it's an up-to-date driver. But I think the reason he said it's so last year is because right there in the output of the error log... it shows as being dated 12/10

thaT ALL that was available when i downloaded the game and activated the account Hello, SDC = Stardock Central Well, I cannot remember for certain, but if I recall correctly, for some reason it's as if Stardock Central WANTS you to install beta versions. Why do I say(put) it like that? Because IIRC it has 'Sho

Lol Vandenburg. I like shiny things too, hehe. And I agree, an option for their frequency of occurence would be a welcome one. Cheers

When you got to 'Games' in Stardock Central, try clicking on 'Galactic Civilizations II'... not tutorials, multimedia or movies. Click on the game itself. Then look under the 'Installed' and 'Available' columns. What do you see? Under the 'Installed' column you should see that 1.0(or similar) is installed. Under the 'Available' column you should see 1.1(or similar) is available. There is another column to the right labeled 'Action'. Under that column you should have a clic

Yeah, I think you could defintely say there are some spoofs of other SciFi games, books, and shows in here. I can't really remember where, but I could swear I've seen that Squid ship with the frog tounge that springs out to suck in other ships somewhere. Might have even been in SCII, at the end? Anyway, I'm almost positive I've seen that baby before! Stargates that can only transfer you to another Stargate? Yeah, I've seen a couple of Stargate: SGI shows in my day. <br

Hi, I haven't played very many games yet so I'm not very knowledgeable. However I am wondering if you are playing as the Terran race and researched the Stellar Cartography tech? I certainly took note of it's description upon completion of it being researched. "Our sensors allow us to see stars throughout the galaxy, but not necessarily planets. Those planets that we think are high quality may show up slightly different on our mini-map scanner now." From that des

Big J Money, Hello. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. Of course I am curious, are you a Dev or asStardock Rep. of some sort? You don't have the Stardock banner that I have seen on other Stardock representative's posts. Whatever the case, I do appreciate the reply. I want to let you know about something that happened to me a few days ago. There was a game that I played where I had the 700% Manufacturing Bonus tile. Probably the third game I've played so far. I thought

It's a fact of life that hardware can die. Software doesn't normally cause hardware to die though. I say normally because there is software that does things like, overclock hardware, and as SuperGeek mentioned has settings for things such as refresh rates. For instance on a CRT monitor, forcing a refresh rate higher on it than it can handle can blow it out. Unlike SuperGeek though, from you description(tried different monitors, res, resfresh rates) I think your card is probably fried. Cards have

Vandenburg is correct, the 'no tech trading' option has nothing to do with this bug. In fact, this bug can arise during the course of normal research, e.g. if I had finished researching 'Research Centers', or 'Xeno Factory Construction' while on the cusp of completing construction of the primitive structures. OMG! If this is

Hi, I am still fairly new to the game. I wanted to say thanks for posting this. It's good to know about such a bug! They've put a new option into the new v1.1 Update... "New Option: No tech trading." Could one of the reasons for that new option be because they haven't worked this bug out yet? I think I'll use the new option until the bug this bug is fixed. I really don't want to have to remember to go around to all my planets and check them
