Voltron, I'd like a copy of that B5 ship pack. I'd email you, but the button doesn't work. doronron_2 at hotmail dot com

Unfortunately, given the way the code currently works, none of the ship component abilities allow you to affect other ships. They only alter the stats of the ship they're attached to.
Could you clarify on that, Blazer?
Hey, Blender will also edit .x files and it's completely free. You might want to take a look at it.
I've asked several times. I have not received a response. That's what lead to this thread. And so far none of my ideas work at all.
I was creating a new ship component using the module command tags, filling in the data such as size, cost, name, description. Telling it the ability that should be used was the same as the fighterdrones module from the starbase. I was using the troop carrier graphics as the visual representation. No weapons or defense animation was being used.
Ships so far cannot use starbase effects. The commands that define starbase modules and the commands that define ships are mutually exclusive. The engine either glosses over the command, or it makes the game unstable -- and still does not work.
Wow, this is AMAZING. Some of you are just either ridiculously talented or have obscene amounts of free time on your hands. Superb stuff Creston Both. Though I'd prefer to be thought of as "ridiculously talented". Thanks for posti
Hello Terraner: This model was built entirely inside the game's ship designer. It uses the stock large human hull and a mix of jewelry from the standard game and collector's edition sets. No additional software is required, and no modding was done to the game's code. All of the ships I've created can be built by anyone.
I am looking at what's already been done. Starbases are essentially stationary ships. They have an ingame effect that provides an attack bonus to all ships in range. That effect is attached to a module you can add to the starbase. I am trying to figure out a way to take that ingame effect and put it on a module you can add to a ship. I've looked at planets. They don't work that way. There's no "planet hull" type, and their improvement
I've been working on this for the last week or so, and have been emailing stardock employees for help, but have received none. I've become rather familiar with the syntax used in the xml files structure, and have been editing the GC2Types.xml file quite a bit. My initial effort was to import the Fighter Drones module from the military starbase into a ship component. Unfortunately, the GC2Types file does not recognize the tags or
You can flip hardpoints to make them face the opposite direction.
All of my ships were done using the default ship designer.
I plan on posting all of my designs to the metaverse once I have a complete fleet built. None of my ships require any mods at this time.
I haven't really experienced any issues. If there were some, I didn't notice them.
Stuff like miniaturization helps. I had several fleets of medium class ships with decent Phasor and Photon torpedo capacity, along with proper defensive modules.
Vaga - use the savegame trick. If you had savegames with that ship in them prior to the update, load up the savegame and the custom will be rebuilt for you.
Here are my older ones. I'm working on newer ones, now. Lance: Explorer: Pioneer: Worker: Batt
Aren't they supposed to be random? I figured I just had an extremely lucky roll of the dice for my tiles.
I had a game with an Earth that had a 700% Mfg bonus, a 300% Mfg bonus, two 100% Farm bonuses, and a 300% Research bonus.
+ NOTE: Your ship designs from 1.0D1 and before will NOT show up in this version. We have updated this version so that the ships contain their own unique version ID so that when we do FUTURE updates, your ships will still work. But we didn't implement this until now (now that we have seen the sophisticated ship designs people are creating). So we apologize in advance for that, but it shouldn't be a problem going forward. Oh well. <img sr
Very Cool
There is a satellite dish included in the collector's edition components. Go to your generic tab under extras and scroll down into the collector's edition components (they're all together). The satellite dish in in there.
I intend to, along with the rest of the fleet. I need to make the following ships: Troop Transport Freighter Bomber PT Boat Corvette Destroyer Cruiser Carrier (Dependant on some XML tweaking). I'm making roughly one a night.
I've searched for cheats and found nothing regarding a full AI game. I would love to watch the AI fight itself.
