Ok, solved the problem by changing my windows language settings to english(US). But would be nice to have my former keyboard settings soon

I wanted to play my first game with the Beta 4B and I didn´t check the blind exploration option. But when the game started, I couldn´t see the influence circles of the other empires. Sry if this has been posted bevore. I played on a huge galaxy, everything abundant with 5 AIs. But after a bit of exploration it turned out the capital planets of at least one AI was only one sector away. I repeated this 4 times with the same results.<

actually, on Intelligent the way the AI counters your Influence domination sometimes is a little crude. I have the impression it builds too many embassies on its planets so theres no more room left for good production, research or economy output per planet, and it builds too less influence starbases and takes too little regard to the influence technological pathways.
I agree, I also had 3 games where I focused entirely on economics and pop growth and build no single military ship. The AI never attacked me because of my "potential military might". In the end my industrial capacities were overpowered. Conclusion: AI must become more agressive when you have no military, especially in the early to mid game phase.

What do you guys think of the AI behaviour on gigantic maps? I have some feeling that the bigger the size, the more desastrous are some bad AI moves ( speaking now of INTELLIGENT or higher of course). For example, you all know the engine bug. The AI is simply too slow. I´ve played now 6 games on gigantic and in all games even in mid to late game, the AI snails around at 2 -4 parsecs per turn. This will be hopefully fixed in 1.1 .
