Your graphics card is way more than 2 generations old. 64 MB of Video RAM was good around 4-5 years ago. And shared Video RAM is worse than having 64MB of RAM directly on your card. I am astounded by the weapon gfx. But the turrets make things look like a cartoon. Out of nowhere this big turret pops up and fires, then dissapears. Still can not download multimedia for the 1.6 beta. I guess it doesn't like me. I have been able to download everything else for GC2 and DA. It is kind of pointless to play a game without sound effects and the other crap that the multimedia stuff is supposed to have. So... when is this problem going to be fixed. I had to reinstall my operating system because my computer wouldn't start. That was after I visited the GalCiv2 website when it was hacked. (Thanks for protecting your customers, not!) Well like an idiot I keep trying to play the mod expecting different results; like it working. There are no Klingon hulls. None. I had the same problem with the Federation but managed to fix it by copying the main mod files into the mod parent directory. Don't know why that fixed it. But still no Klingon hulls. Right now, from what I've seen I can only build hulls for Federation and Borg. When I played the Federation the computer was able to build Klingon Hulls. Strange.

This mod has a very serious problem. I think a major memory leak. I have a super gamming computer and I can play DA on gigantic with a plethura of ships and no problems. I try to play on a large map on this mod and my computer always says I don't have enough memory. I have Vista and I have more memory than the XP operating system would recognize. Vista does recognize my RAM though. Great MOD idea, terrible execution of it.

I was able to play on it also. I downloaded from SDC late on the 4th, it would be early morning on the 5th EST. I saw changes in the graphics on how ships looked before they were put in a fleet if a bunch of ships where on the same space. I played a whole game that ended today without any problems. Sorry for posting what I did without checking around the forum. I did a little digging and found the thing about nvidia drivers and vista. I installed the beta 104.41 drivers and it works now.

I ran this game on a Intel core 2 duo 1.6 Ghz with XP without any problem. I then try to run it on a Intel core 2 Duo 1.86 Ghz with Vista (32-bit edition) and the game is unplayable as it freezes in a very short time from start, no matter what. I have the latest graphic driver updates. I have the latest direct x update for Vista. All my other games don't have a problem. The thing is I have a Intel Pentium D 830 right now. I am looking at a Intel E6300 1.8 GHZ Cour 2 Duo. I found a web site that benchmarks the E6300 against mainly an AMD processor but also includes a Pentium D 900 series. The E6300 looks favorable. I've been playing WarFront Turning point latley for RTS. It's ok. I'm kind of bummered out about hearing that C&C 3 Tiberium Wars is actually using the same engine as Generals with updated skins. GalCiv2 DA is still my number one TBS game.

I'm just wondering if a 1.8 Ghz dual core processor is equal to or better than a single core processor? Some people I talked to said it was becuase it has two processors at 1.8 so it's like a 3.6 Ghz single core. Is that really an accurate statement.
