Thats why I said the AI's should do it when at peace. Ah yes you did, my bad. Yes when at peace and if the parent planet reaches maximum population and or has morale issues then yes, by all means move the population on somewhare else.

Well, I was torn limb from limb anyway, how'd they get 10 Beam power on a small fighter? Ah, well, it's over, game deleted, might as well start a new one. You could try an experiment... Imagine you were very lucky and started a game with a really good map? Now force find that luck with CNTRL+N! Get a map where you are near the edge
I have played galciv1 extensively and i think the space monsters are great! Reading all these posts i see a few against the idea, but they do not give valid reasons why they don't like them. There is no reason to loose your flagship at all, the creatures never attack on their first turn. Also in Galciv1 units can attack one square beyond their movement points but this is fixed in Galciv2 which would further reduce the threat from space monsters. One annoying thing wit
I didn't mean to infect a lot of luck. Basically, my idea was to specify a range instead of a static time to make it look more "real". Yes it would be more realistic, but i don't think it would improve the game - i could be wrong? In my view, it is nice to be able to tweak the economic slider bars to get it just the way i want. If t
Upgrading ships saves you tons of $$$ over the legnth of the game. Turn 1 buy a blank cargo hull for ~450. Turn 2 upgrade to a colony for ~150 (numbers are not percise but close). Compare that to buying a colony outright for ~950. Sure it takes 2 extra turns but you will see the benefit immediately. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=cen
No, the main problem was that the AI couldn't utilize terror stars. No? uh um, the AI cannot utelise terror stars - yes, therefor giving the player an advantage. by removing this advantage you make the game more difficult. So i don't understand why you use the word 'no'?
Mars is always class 4. I can confirm that Mars is definately a class 4 planet. I have never seen it in a game to be anything else, nor have i seen any posts from people sugesting it was anything else. Don't worry about colonising Mars anyway, the AI will colonise it for you. Meaning that Mars is about the stupidest planet the AI c
Hrm, if luck was an extremely rare thing, I doubt that less skilled players would 'top the charts'. I'd say the skilled players would still be up there, the less skilled would just get a boost now and then. Luck is already a big part of the game. That is a slight deterance for me to bother posting scores as is, so with even more luck inject
Sounds like you really know what your talking about here. I havn't played DA yet, so it is nice to know in advance about the big game spoilers. I hope they get fixed.
This is my opinion... you have a building, a capital building, you evacuate the building and fill it with explosives. You detonate the explosives and somehow mirraculously the building is not damaged! Even though just down the road you blew up another building made of the same metal - but it was not protected by the mysterious magic of being a 'capital'oooow aaaarrr. Yes not being able to demolish capitals is totally idiotic. Try a morale and or economic penalty for doing it instead of
I think the higher difficulty levels fully compensate for this issue. Also if you introduced this repopulation idea to the AI then it would have serious consequences. Transports that could be used for further conquest, would instead be diverted to repopulate. Repopulated planets could be retaken and thus that potential invading army would be wasted in a disadvantageous defence.
I traded for the tech but don't see how to use it. Can starbases be made to be mobil? You can make starbases mobile.... simply install Galciv1 and research terror stars. Also you can move galactic recources into your territory by upgrading mining stations to Terror stars. But only in Galciv1, Galciv2 dousn't have them in an attempt to make th
How can you say it's too easy? I've had the game for a few months now and haven't won yet Let me guess... your finances are killing your game rite? Finances are by far the biggest bitch in the game, especially for beginners. Once i learnt to handle my finances, i became virtually invincible. Although even now, finances are still th
This is an excellent trick, but it's a bit cheesy that the game allows upgrading outside of a space yard... Not realy, the critical factor is the technology. An example.... in Startrek Voyager, Janeway (the captain) appears from the future and provides Voyager with serious upgrades making them almost invunerable to the Borg. They did not st
It was an over-elaborate way trying to say something like "way to mix a signal." Hehehe yea, i am not always a single minded person, i can happily entertain conflicting ideas in my head. Life is rarely 'black and white' if you know what i mean? <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Table
My question now is... what happend to the Drath's powerful fleet? Seems like they're gone for good. But shouldn't they have the option to either be incorporated in my fleet, join another civ, become pirates or rebels? You could simply consider them to have evacuated the hostile galaxy... just like the Iconians did when the Yor rebelled.
Nice idea but the problem is luck verses strategy. The more 'luck' you inject into the game, the more likely there will be less skilled players topping the score charts simply because they were extra lucky.... I don't like that prospect at all.
Sometimes if you wait long enough, it will work. Go and get somthing to eat, visit the toilet, go shopping, go fishing! come back and see what happens?
Personally, i do think that conquest tech stealing should be made much, much rarer. It is an irritating thing which prevents me from enjoying a serious war where the AI conquors my planets, i retake them, etc etc. No, instead i have to be all careful, making sure i never loose any planets lah de dah, yawn, how booring, all because of tech stealing. Get rid of it!
That is something entirely different from the 'no production on first turn after a reload' issue that has already been fixed for some time. You should send a zipped save game illustrating the issue with a description of it to [email protected]. Thank you Kryo, i shall email it tonight, i think i have another game with the same problem but i mi
I thought you have to post victory conditions to the metaverse before getting medals?
In my current game, i just got attacked by the Alterians. I smashed their initial attacks. Saved the game, came back, kicked ass some more, then suddenly my missiles were no longer effective and many of my ships were slaughtered. Suprising since the Alterians had not yet changed their defences, still had no missile defence? While all this was going on i had forgotten about my manufacturing capital... it was set up to produce my massive new warships. Finally i discovered it wa
do a search to find a recentish post with the following heading; It's a tough world I would give you a link to it but i don't know how. there are some good strategies listed there
The only one of those issues I recognize is the zero production upon load one, which was fixed way back in 1.3 I think. No it's not fixed. It's not a problem to fix if the AI gets the same production block? Are you saying the zero production only happens on the first reload?
Oi, what a backwards pat on the back I certainly appreciate the leave-me-alone thing; one of my personal character flaws is a tendency to hold a grudge. quote] I can read your words, but the meaning seems elusive? "Oi, what a backwards pat on the back" Oi being a term typically used to draw disgruntled attention and a backwards pat on the back... i have no idea what that means? The rest i can fathom, and agree with.
