Hi, so i have been playing Twilight of the Arnor for the first time recently and have been enjoying it immensely, but have a few questions which have probably been asked many times already? 1) First of all, how come when i try to do a search on a topic, the webpage (Galciv2) thinks about it forever until i give up and cancel the operation? 2) A couple of times i have noticed groups of my ships movement points vanishing to zero but they haven't

Oh well, i know how to work around those zero value techs already..... just that sometimes depending on the map, i might find a very magnificent radioactive world that i want to colonize but i cannot research it because i will fall behind technologically while doing so and have nothing to get my foot back in the door of the tech trading market when it is completed.

Tiny unarmed ships are useful for that and also excellent to defend areas out of reach of your main fleets..... That is, if an enemy happens to turn up there, you can then upgrade them in such a way to defeat that enemy fleet or if no enemy turns up, then the maintenance is much less., Oh also if you don't happen to have money for upgrading, they can still be used for delaying the enemy fleet until one of your main fleets can get there.

I came back to playing Dreadlords recently after giving Galciv3 a go and realized i didn't have the energy for learning it when deep down i just wanted to play the old game i already know well. While playing Dreadlords i came upon that bug where some of the extreme colonization techs have no value. I wondered if that had been fixed by now and while looking for the answer i discovered i have never actually played Twilight of the Arnor! So my next question is,,,, is the bug

Two key things to remember and do well; 1) servey ships I usually always greatly benefit by going after Anomaly money as soon as possible - that can be a huge boost early game. The way to do it, i research to Ion drive first up then Xeno research to sensors level 1, as soon as i get sensors level 1 and Ion drive i can build 2 or 3 half decent servey ships with cargo hulls. Usually you will not need more than 3, (plus your flagship which is useless anyway because it chases anom

I am surprised this topic is not understood well by so many people? It is often the case that we humans find attributes foreign to our own immediate group attractive, this is basically because genetic diversity is beneficial. Cultural concepts may make many people cringe at such attractions, but remove those cultural concepts and you may find such an attraction hidden underneath!

Well, i never played Halo but i did play Freespace. From the game, we know they are using the same shield technology on the Lucifer that is on their smaller ships. We know known weapons are effective against these shields on smaller vessels. This means known weapons in the game will have some effect on the Lucifer's shields as well, because it is the same technology. We know conventional capital ships are not using shields because of the power requirements to do so. We know the Lucife

My expectations of Stargate Universe may have been a little dissapointed, but i still thoroughly enjoyed it. Besides, good sci fi series involving outer space are quite thin on the ground these days, so i will gratefully take whatever i can get!

Came back to DA again this week after a long go with X3 Reunion. I started a few DA games as Terran with the Drengin on Godlike,,, other races on genious (so the Drengin don't loose to other AI race, which i hate, because their mine!) which did not go the way i wanted.... Drengin fleets being so powerful that defences are irrelevant and then all your left with is a mindless mutual distruction slugfest. I would like defences to mean something, but

Well here i am sitting in the office with nothing to do.... Since we sell scaffolding, there is little happening leading up to Christmas so i have been playing civ2. I chose that game because the office computer is pretty ancient. Anyway, today i forgot to bring the game disk so i thought i would go online and see if there is a legitimate no cd patch for it..... Seems to be no legitimate sites for civ2 anymore? I did find a respectable loo

So if you want to trade them away, make sure it's early enough in the extreme-planet phase of the colony rush that there's still plenty of decent ones to go after. That's not entirely true. In my experience anyway, the AI will NEVER pay for toxic or barren tech, of either level. Other techs depend on how many plan
The AI will sell low-population planets pretty cheap, although you will be paying more as the Arceans than the Terrans. Don't bother trying to buy the techs, buy the freshly colonized planets themselves! Even if you don't have any of the tech, you can still build population, rush buy, get credits, and research with those planets. IIRC focused output from your research output is also unaffected.
Interesting Ide

Thanks for further strategic advice all.... Just now i decided to try Arcean again. Now i did one unusual thing - i set a gigantic map with rare stars but abundant planets. Drengin set to godlike, Korath set to increadible, others on Genious. Then i dunno if it was luck or a result of my setting rare stars but my start colony got a 700 factory bonus followed by a 700 science bonus and a 300 factory bonus on my third planet, followed by a planet of
