My idea is that each ship, in addition to the base 1 parsec/turn or whatever it is, can fit one engine any type regardless of size. Any additional engines go against the size and affects what little room is left for more stuff.

Should result in a speed increase all around and the real speedsters or hot-rods still need to have space for additional engines/drives.
