Beta has closed

Users who pre-order at this point will be on the normal pre-order setting. The beta is now closed to new testers. 

All users who pre-order, regardless of where they pre-order it, will get the special collector's version of the game with additional content.

Game release date is last week of February. Stay tuned!

does that mean the people who ordered the Retail CD will also get the Additional ship components, the Galactic Civilizations Desktop and more?

Yep. 

In fact, we encourage people to pre-order from retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, EB, and Gamestop.

Whichever way you order is the best way. 

When you order from a retail store, it helps them determine their initial stock level.  That's why some games only have 2 boxes per store and others have 20 boxes per store.

As I renewed my TGN subscription about 6 months ago, I am entitled to GCII on release. Will I continue to get the beta releases that are non-public, or do I have to wait to February for release??? I currently am running the .80ab releae.
