Word On The Street - remove numeric ages

Do Torian kids get their drivers license at 16?

I like the "Word On the Street" thing in the colony details window. It gives you a sense of how the colonists are feeling. My complaint is with the numeric ages. They are based on the lifespan of a Human. A colonist of age 80 is considered "elderly", but when I play as the Torian, should age 80 be elderly? Can a Torian even live that long? WHO CARES?

Please replace the numeric ages with age category strings, like the following:
"young child"
"youth"
"young adult"
"adult"
"middle aged adult"
"older adult"
"elderly"
"very elderly"

Sorry, don't agree. It would change the flow of it.  I think we deserve a little credit for having different names based on the race. But changing someone from "Age 3" to "Young adult" sounds weird to us.

true, but age is age, the fact that a Torian might have 60 more years to look forward to vs a humans 10 (est) doesn't change the fact taht they have both had 80 years of life experience and are probably going to share conservative political values.

personally, i like the age because it actually sounds more realistic, like in letters to the editors in various magazines, at teh end it says John Smith 36, Gary, Indiana, not John smith young adult.

What is Torians live 1000 years? Or only live 5 years? What if humans in 2255 live to be 300 years old? I think your perspective on life is heavily influenced by where you are on the lifeline between birth and death.

I'm sorry I even brought this up. I thought it could be done better, but either I'm not explaining my point of view properly, or I'm just totally wrong.

PS: Yes, I did get the newspaper/magazine thing. It was clever.

IMO a very valid point of view . A Man is not a measure for other life in the galaxy. Just how would you measure an age of a just asembled (born? made? ) Yor, with his experience consisting of a copy of memories of ALL his predecessors? Or a member of an insectoid race, that in his (its?) lifespan goes through many metamorphoses, of which only one humans would call sentient?

I agree with Proud Canadian. Changing the age from a number to a label would be more appropriate, especially for the non-human races.
