Beta 4 - Alliances broken?

You guys might want to put on your diplomat hats out there and try to create some alliances. First one I tried to create crashed the game. Perhaps it was because it was the last empire, and I was effectively triggering the unimplemented alliance victory. I'm not sure however.

Has anyone else managed to successfully create an alliance?

The game I finished last night ended when I allied with the Korx. I got an alliance victory screen.

I tried this with one of my save games and I didn't get a crash when allying with the last civ or with multiple ones, so it may have been something else.  Did you send the crash log into gc2bugs@stardock.com?

Yep, I always do unless it's an identical crash to the one that just crashed me (i.e. Crashed on load of a savegame, then crashed on load of the very same savegame). If I'm not mistaken, I also sent the savegame with the exception.

I haven't yet had the chance to download the new version. The above report was posted before it came out.
