Beta 4 Suggestion: Defenses should have Weapons as prerequisite

In order to build Starship Defenses, you should first have to research Starship Weapons. Also, in order to start a "defense theory" track, you should have to complete the "weapon theory" track first. For example, how can I research "Shield Defense Theory" if I haven't even theorized what a Beam Weapon is? That is like mankind developing Kevlar body armor before gunpower and muskets were discovered. This should be a pretty minor effort to change in the tech tree, but I think it is important.

Hmmm. Certainly agree on researching weapon theory before accessing defence theory.

I'm not so sure about researching the weapon before the counter defence. If the Korx attack me with those strange missile things (what a bizzarre concept) I'd look into ways of countering but I wouldn't necessarily try to make my own missiles. Nothing at all wrong with my lasers afterall!

One thing to note here...if your looking to make a universal armouring system Mass-driver Protection helps Universally with Especially for bullets so i use titanium armor los. then once im able to research weapons (when you research Space weaponry tech), i recive the first weapon (thats a beam weapon) the particle beam,Bulky as hell and expensive but nontheless better than just gettin shot at all day (if you just have defenses YOU WILL loose a battle at some point) even just a gay beam weapon (or mass drivers-what i use alot) can do the trick and lots of fighting...

What I am proposing is that you have to research Beam Weapon Theory before you can research Shield Theory. Similarly, you should have to research Missile Weapon Theory before you can research Missile Defense Theory, and the same for projectile weapons / ship armor. I'm NOT saying that you should have to research specific weapons before you research specific defenses - just make the weapon "theory" come before the defense "theory". Once you have the defense theory unlocked, you should be able to progress on that research track normally as far as you wish.

im fine with that... thats good (plus you Auto Get the particle beam weapon from the theroy for instant attack and defense! Bulky BULKY ships!)
