Planet defenses part 2

So - to those in the know - what planet defesnes are going to be in the game? and the second Question - wait for it....... Can a planet "be safe" from invasion if no Space ship is defending it? As far as what "be safe"means is -in GC 1 - if you didn't have a ship in orbit - anyone with a transport could walk right in and invade. I'm HOPING that space states or other orbital definenses can prevent the need of always needing a ship to protect a planet.

ships to prevent an invader from just sending a really big rock at the planet... you know the basics.

work into the new governors.  If your have X governor on your planet and there are no ships in orbit, purchase a Y ship to dock and defend.

But as for a Planetary Improvement that accompolishes this task, no plans are in the works.

goveror. Having to build ships and ensure every planet has enough in orbit and then update them as the game progresses is a chore at the moment.

A good example of a weapon used to defend a planet is a system defense gun. Strong enough to blow away transports and fighters, but crusier and larger craft could destroy it.
