With the way galciv worked was it unprofitable to colonize planets like mars because the game build an entire and full functioning civilization on it. But In reality don't I think that that is the thing humans shall do on mars. But mars might be filled with resources so I can definitly see a small mining colony being very profitable.
Small planets on average have more heavy materials on there surface(like Iron and gold) then bigger planets. But small planets don't have enough gravity for a big athmosphere so they shall quite always be below planet class 15. So while small planets are not well suited for extensive colonization are they ideal for a small mining colony. It would be cool if this was possible in galciv2.
