Dread Lords == Vorlons

I was looking through some of the screenshots today and was wondering...are the Dread Lords supposed to be a spoof of the Vorlons from Babylon 5. I noticed a very similar type of ship design and maybe a similar energy weapon. Maybe I'm misreading the picture but ..... well any ideas?

And maybe they could have the planet buster like the vorlons or star wars...

the GCII intro vid currently on offer does look a little Vorlon/Shadows
