Sunsetted?
Anyway there is a lot I would like to say about what you've said Mr Wardell, mostly good things because acutally stardock is one of the company who listen most of the time to the community. I don't know how big your company have grown since the beginning but support staff could testify that I'm here for a long time now even if I don't participate a lot in the community life by only interacting when I have a problem. But still I follow the progress of the soft for a long time now.
Your biggest problem I think as a company beside all the deadends that you developped (for more than one reason, like the market wasn't ready), is the support of your softs. There are after all a subsequently portion of your customers base who have complained over the years about your soft which are not compatible enough or which are buggy for a diversity of reasons.
I understand that tests labs are costly and you can't imagine all the use case scenarios possible. So I would like to porpose something.... Actually 2 things.
The first one is not the most important and not the most possible, it s partnership with microsoft. You have various problems with your products of the objectdesktop suite for years now and sometimes you can adress some of those problems but often it's just not possible. I don't know why, maybe it's because your support staff doesn't believe the customers when they say "it doesn't work with that scenario" etc but maybe it's time to really listen to your customer base and maybe just assume that the microsoft code is buggy and so a partnership would be profitable for the 2 companies, at least in terms of R&D.
The second one which is the msot practical and the most important I think, it's to adapt your customer service. Maybe in place of not believe your customer base when there is a problem or just don't find the problem because your test labs didn't report any problems, you could do some remote support. You don't need to do that for every customer. But if there is a case which is difficult to solve and that didn't link with the test labs results maybe a good thing could be a remote session through Logmein for example like microsoft does .... I know for my part that it would solve a lot of problems and would be profitable to your company in R&D.
That's my 2 cents for the moment
