Hi! Could someone please just verify for me that I can download and install a major mod to my just-bought copy of GCII Ultimate Edition (version 2.02) -- such as Altarn's Polished Twilight of the Arnor Ver 2 -- and that it will run perfectly fine without my first obtaining and installing the 2.04 update to GCIIUE?

I'm very eager to start playing GC for the first time...but I'm quite new to "game modding" and don't want my ignorance to "mess everything up."

I couldn't find a proper changelog for 2.03, only what's mentioned in this news post. By the looks of it, you would only miss out on the changes to the AI, and some fixes for crashes and misc. stuff. The adjustments to the tech tree costs will be included in the mods themselves (though most likely further changed, because that's how we modders roll).

From what I recall, 2.04 only had some fixes for Metaverse-related issues. So it shouldn't affect you, if you don't intend to play on the Metaverse.

All in all, I can't guarantee that the mods will run perfectly, because they were made with the last AI as a base. However, they should work.
