Looks like that's what it says in the thread title.  Wonder if this will carry over to Windows 9.  I guess that's a tuff question at the moment.

A little disappointed I bought this and you can't use this when WindowBlinds is applied. You have to use the default windows theme.

I just read it again "adding a distinctive drop shadow to the window frames in Microsoft's Windows 8 platform". 

Should put "Does not work when WindowBlinds is applied".

this is something i would sure be interested if i had to use Windows 8. dropshadows are really useful for me.

 

but hey: adblocking extension installed. busted

Should put "Does not work when WindowBlinds is applied".

Shadows are part of the WindowBlinds theme, so if you have a WB theme you can add shadows to that yourself.

ShadowFX is for the stock OS theme which lacks shadows.

^ Just to expand on what Neil wrote, to get the drop shadow effect move the sliders under 'Transparency' all the way to the right, and you get the drop shadow effect in W7.

Any chance you can get it working on Office, VS 2013 or Foxit PDF Reader?

If the app does not get a shadow with Aero on Windows 7 then it would not get one with ShadowFX.
