Game freezes at diplomatic screen (GCII Ultimate Edition)

When selecting influence points on both sides

Had this occur 3 times till now. When I select influence point(s) on both sides of the diplomatic screen, the game freezes up.

Has anyone experienced this before and is it a known bug? Couldn't find anything about it that quickly.

Playing standard new game mode on GC II Ultimate Edition.
