Lots of maps or something? Odd.

Is FSX really classified as a "game" though? I would expect a simulation program to  contain vast amounts of data with far greater detail than the average game.

One that can be user modded would naturally grow in size with use. Even so, that's a lot of aircraft and skins!

Out of curiosity, how large is the base install of the program without any patches or expansions installed?

Let's do a comparison:

Well, let's look at your options.  You can either:

1) Pilot a plane, in beautiful, realistic environments and scenarios.

or

2) Pilot a mech with lasers, missile launchers, and rocket boots.

Not exactly a tough choice for me, really.
