Metaverse Character Creation Issue

I am trying to create my first character  I get to the screen asking to make a name and pin number just fine.  No matter what I put in for the name it says I am using Invalid characters.  

Examples of names: PointlessTangent. Ender, TrialError

These names don't have invalid characters : ( anyone have any tips?

Make sure you're entering your serial key accurately as well. If that doesn't help, contact [email protected] and they should be able to assist further.
