Still Frame Portraits

I installed Dread Lords on my windows 7 machine with no problems. Except when trading/speaking with other races, the view-screen portraits are still frame instead of animated. Im not sure if this has anything to do with windows 7, but I've never encountered it before, and I cant seem to find an option in the menu for portrait settings.

 

any help?

Er... the viewscreen portraits are only supposed to be animated when talking/trading with other races. The ones on the diplomacy window and race setup screens have never been animated. I'm not sure I understood what the problem is.

Edit: Unless you're saying that things like first contact messages (when they talk to you on the main map) aren't animated?
