Well shoot, I thought those fleet warp modules will defend my other ships.

Guess Not.

All this time, I thought that the enemy will always attack the ship with the fleet module first and ignore all other ships around it even though those might me the deadlier ones.

Last night, it turns out the enemy is much more smarter than that.

In this picture, the unshielded fighter got blown up first rather than the shielded flagship that has a fleet warp bubble.

Now how does all of the fleet warp bubble fit into the targeting equations?

You'll have to ask or check around for the full story on targeting equations, but unarmed ships are always targeted last. Unless you put weapons on the ship that has the warp bubble, the enemy will ignore it.

You know, I purposely put those fleet warp bubbles on the most heavily shielded and armed ship I have for the PURPOSE that it will attract all of the enemies' attention and leaving my other ships safe.

Does the warp-bubble ship have at least one weapon in addition to the defenses? I've never had the tactical screen target anything other than the warp-bubble baitship as long as it was armed; but one time I forgot and left off the laser and then my fleet got wiped.

Fleet modules do make the ship a higher priority target, but a ship with a bigger load of weapons can still steal priority. So you need to decrease your load of weapons, or make a bigger command ship with more guns that will attract more attention.
