The last couple of campaigns as the Yor (DL) have quite altered my opinion of minor races. Like most, I've just used them as punching bags to grab a few high PQ planets. The campaign before my last one, I'd been tech-trading with the Dark Yor, and sending them my obsolete ships to help them fight a potential enemy of mine. 

When I got the option to have them as allies, I figured, what the hell, I'll give it a go.....HOLY S***!

I gave them several high-level techs that they needed, and cash on a monthly basis to prop them up....and man did they tear up their sector of the galaxy!!! After awhile, I began to wish I could slow them down before they overran the rest of the galaxy....hey, save some for me  

They showed up in my latest campaign almost right next door and this time I helped them right from the beginning...even gave them a couple of medium PQ planets I'd captured. Same result! They proceed to go on a galaxy-wide conquering binge, although they tend to overextend. But that just makes it easy for me to step in and  retake those weakened planets from whomever had recaptured them from the Dark Yor.
