So I'm getting to a point where I'm going to be examining my results soon, and before I stop tinkering with values and such, I'd like to ask . . .
Does anyone know exactly what the programmed "goals" of each of the 4 AIs are, and their method to fulfill them? I mean, things like exactly what a given type of AI out of the four gives greater or less weight to in a "decision" and how much?
I'm not looking for hard numbers, but just more details on their base behavior. For instance, AI 7 is for the Drengin, Korath, and Yor. This leads me to believe it's militaristic, but in what way? Does it focus on building disastrously powerful ships and nothing else? Does it prefer to focus on planetary invasion? Does it prefer to use starbases, including terror stars? Does it do any and everything that boosts its military capacity, including all of the above?
I've heard a lot of talk all over the forums about how 1 or 2 of the AIs are downright useless, 1 is mediocre, and the last is actually worthwhile. Is this because of the AIs base behavior or because the values in the game don't correspond to the values a given AI has been programmed to cope with?
I'd like to get a dev's take on this, but the opinions of the community are welcome too.
