Sending private messages - does CAPCHA require google-analytics.com JavaScript enabled?

I use NoScript in Firefox and block all JavaScript except that which is necessary.  About 1 or 2 in every 3 attempts with correct CAPCHA it says the text I entered was wrong, when it wasn't.   Could it be because google-analytics.com Java Script is required, or is there a possible bug in the CAPCHA code?  I have stardock.net, stardock.com and elementalgame.com JavaScript on all the time when browsing the Elemental forums and sending PMs.

I think that is done on purpose for some reason...it does that to me all the time as well...and yes it is annoying.

I am not sure but I think that is intentional. It may be somewhat annoying but trust me spam bots are much more annoying. Personally I do not mind doing it twice.

The CAPCHA never works on the first try. I think it's by design (a bot wouldn't try twice?)

The CAPTCHA "text" isn't really text. It's an image. The "gaming" computer would therefore fail in 'reading' the presented image whereas a person could. Of course, computers can be programmed to 'read' the image so, colors are added to confuse machine reading but not human reading.

The "gaming" computer can try any number of times, but if it can't recognize and translate images to test, it will always fail.

In actuality, I think this is a malfunction of the CAPTCHA text... you might drop Bara a PM about it.

Doc, your new avatar is really cool. Gee wiz with the CAPTCHA text and I always thought I could never figure out if it was a cap letter or not. Now I can stop buying bigger monitors so the text looks bigger.

Would depend on the colors and whether he/she was a Protonope, Deuteranope or Tritinope... color blind to one, two or three colors. The person so affected would see only varying shades of gray.

 It has never worked the first time around. And sometimes you can't tell whether or not a letter is lower case or upper. But ... it is what it is I guess.

don't think it is case sensitive, I never use the caps and the second attempt usually works.
