You should be more specific, as "mods" cover a great deal of ground.

Firstly, what parts of the game do you plan to mod?

• Xml files, such as RaceConfig, can be opened and edited in Notepad; there are certainly better editors out there but it does work for me.
• I don't know how to edit graphics, but if you ask around I'm sure another modder can help.
• You don't need any folders or files in your mod except for those you've edited.

What do you recommend. What does the different folders do. I could use some examples. Changing the races, abilities, starbases, Increasing the number of races and stars on the game, adding more alians, making the AI better with my tactics. Instead of giving arbitrary economic bonuses. making a better AI for higher difficulty. making a 31 major and 25 minor race mod with more stars. Giving back the drath their dread lords abilities. Bringing back the krynn and iconians espianoge.
