How to increase your approval rating?

Some of my colonies are under 50% in approval rating and I would like to make my people happy so that they will not rebell. I wonder how can I make them happy. The overall aproval rating is 84% but I would like to make them more happier.

Reduce taxes.

Build entertainment.

Build (and upgrade) influence starbases near those planets with low approval.

Obtain and mine the yellow resources.

Keep population at a reasonable level relative to the planet quality.
