Okay, here's the deal. I bought GalCiv 2 Ultimate Edition (v2.03) a two weeks ago and loved it. The affair has dwindled somewhat after continued play, however. After a host of minor setbacks and glithces, I found myself with yet another. I have finally gotten around to playing as the Yor Collective after previously ignoring them due to weak AI. What attracted me to them is their good bonuses and their "Isolationist(?)" ability. Supposedly other races move more slowly through Yor-controlled space and the Yor themselves can automatically colonize barren-type worlds. I'm thinking, goody! I will just hyper-expand and take all the barren planets as well. 

I'm spamming colony ships left and right and finally discover a barren world. (Yes, I am a noob but I know it was barren). The icon did not indicate that it was usable by my species but I tried to colonize it anyway. To my anger and dismay I got the message "You must research Barren World Colonization to colonize this world". What I should have noticed in the tech screen was that "Barren World Colonization" was not 'greened' out as though it was researched. That was an obvious red flag as well.

I'm into my 3rd game as the Yor and I have yet to be able to colonize a barren world. I figured I messed the ability up by using the 10 customize points so I tried a game not customizing at all. To my frustration I still cannot colonize them. Did I miss something that I have to research or do before the option becomes available to me, or is this yet another glitch?

What gives?!
